Oak House B&B is a small family-run bed and breakfast located in the center of Shaw, a town on the outskirts of Oldham. This detached, stone house provides comfortable accommodations within easy reach of all local amenities.

Lying on the River Beal, the parish of Shaw is at the foothills of the Pennines, providing a beautiful setting for country pursuits. Also nearby is Crompton Moor; over 160 acres of beautiful landscape designated a Site of Biological Interest.

For those who prefer the bustle of a lively city, Manchester is just 8.7 mi away, and Rochdale just 3.6 mi away - we are only a 2 minute walk away from Shaw and Crompton tram stop which goes to Manchester center and beyond. Oldham itself is only minutes from the Oak House Hotel and houses a number of historic landmarks, shops and restaurants.

  • Is there a lift

    We do not have a lift, Oak House B&B is just a house and has one flight of standard stairs found in most households.

  • How much is the extra charge for 2 small dogs

    Pets are allowed to stay free of charge, however we have a few rules in place which are: dogs must have their own bed/cage, they are not allowed on the furniture including the beds, they must not be left unattended in the room and they are not allowed in the breakfast room.

  • We have two labradors with us would that be a problem?

    Dogs are allowed but we have a few rules in place which are: dogs must have their own bed/cage, they are not allowed on the furniture including the beds, they must not be left unattended in the room and they are not allowed in the breakfast room.

Property info

Oak House has been run by the same people for many years we try our best to make your stay enjoyable. We are open to any requests which would make it even better. If you have any special needs please ask. Please note that as we are a small budget B&B, we do not provide toiletries such as shampoo/shower gel. Hand soap/wash is provided. We are located on a main road, so this might not be suitable for light sleepers, so please ask for a room at the back and we will try our best to accommate, otherwise we might not be the B&B for you and you might want to stay somewhere more rural. Our breakfast is freshly made to order with orders taken upon arrival. This is to ensure we have sufficient stock and to make service efficient. For guests travelling from outside the UK, please note that we reserve the right to take full payment prior to your arrival. For any bookings over 3 days we also reserve the right to take full payment prior to your arrival. Any booking amendments or cancellation need to be made 24 hours prior to arrival.
