Just returned home from a 3 day stay at Oakover Guest House and can honestly say it was very enjoyable. The room was a very good size, spotlessly clean and had everything you could need including plenty of tea/coffee making supplies. There was also a fridge to enable you to keep your drinks cold. The breakfasts were excellent, a very large choice available. Simon was indeed a very nice, hospitable host, couldn't ask for more. I would indeed recommend this guesthouse.

Oakover Guest House is a Victorian house built in 1870, and is only a 4-minute walk to the sea front and a 15-minute walk to the Grand Pier. Oakover Guest House has been rated by the AA with 4 Gold Stars.

Spread across 2 floors, all 6 bedrooms are en-suite and come with a 32 inch LCD TV with Freeview channels and a CD and DVD player. There are tea/coffee making facilities, a fridge, digital radio alarm, iron and ironing board and hairdryer.

  • Hi, could you let me know if you have disability parking? Also the double room with the spa bath what floor would that be on? Thank you.

    We have a disability parking space at the front of the house right next to the front door. The double room with spa bath is on the first floor up a flight of 17 steps. We do have a kingsize room on the ground floor with ensuite shower/toilet.

    We are only a small 6 room guest house and unfortunately we don't have a lift. However, we do have 2 rooms available on the Ground Floor, one of which is just large enough to accommodate a wheelchair.

Oakover Guest House is a beautiful Victorian house built in 1890, and managed by resident owner Simon. Located on level ground only 200 meters from the sea front & beach lawns, we are only half a mile from the main train station, and only a few minutes walk to the town centre, the Grand Pier, local parks, shops & restaurants. We offer six double rooms across 2 floors including King-size or Twin, Superior & Standard. All rooms are decorated & furnished to a high standard and include: - Private en-suites - 32" colour LCD television (with Freeview & DVD/CD) - Tea/coffee making facilities - Fridge - Digital radio alarm - Ironing Board & Iron - Hair-dryer - Hand & bath towels We offer a good choice on our comprehensive breakfast menu including cereals, fresh fruit & juices and a hot selection cooked fresh to order from locally sourced ingredients. We are proud to have been rated by the AA with 4 Gold Stars and awarded a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence.

Oakover is located in a quiet residential area, around a 10 minute walk into the town centre where there are lots of good quality restaurants, bars & cafes. We are a 2 minute walk from Tesco Express, Coop & the local Indian Restaurant which receives great reviews from our customers who hve tried it, and the local Chinese take-away. The train station & Grand Pier are both around a 7 minute walk, as is the local launderette.
