“We are relatively new to that part of the country, but travelled specifically to visit Hyde Hall RHS, and found the area stunning. There are some lovely walks in and around the village of Terling, and the charming hosts were only too wlling to point that out. The accommodation is charming, the food excellent, and the local bluebell wood was a particular highlight given that we don't seem to have decent bluebells in Sussex this year so I was envious! As a location for a short stay to visit Hyde Hall, I could not recommend this property more highly. The barn conversion is top quality, spotlessly clean, and beautifully fitted out. I would visit again.”

“It was an absolutely beautiful haven, with every detail thought of and everything so attractive to look at. The views from the windows were absolutely perfect, and with the windows open the tree outside rustled me to sleep in my astonishingly comfortable bed. The owners were fun and nice, coming out to greet me and showing me around. They were so nice I could cheerfully have spent more time with them!”

“Beautiful setting, completely self contained, decor is wonderfully tasteful & very easy on the eye. The hosts were very welcoming & couldn't be anymore helpful. The apartment was very well stocked with complimentary toiletries & coffee/tea making facilities, there was even a slice of home made chocolate cake under a glass cloche waiting to welcome me.”

“No wonder this place gets such great reviews! It's immaculate yet very comfortable and homely, and makes such clever and thoughtful use of the space. I was fortunate to have beautiful weather so could use the patio furniture and sit on the lawn with a glass of wine and unwind in this rural idyll. Lorna and Noel are very welcoming hosts (and not just because of the cake!), as is their lovely animal family. Leave your door open if you want a visit from Squeak the cat! Its location is ideal for exploring - Maldon, Heybridge Basin and Cressing Temple Barns are all about 20 minutes away and well worth visiting for their sights and tearooms. And not much further away are beautiful gardens like Feeringbury Manor and Hyde Hall, and picturesque estuary villages like Tollesbury. I very rarely revisit places, however much I've enjoyed them, but I would definitely make an exception for Oakwrights.”
