The location was great, bed was the most comfortable out of 4 hotels in the UK, and there was a full shower with tub, which we didn’t see in our other hotel stays.
United States of AmericaThe location was the best! The hotel was across from the train station and walking distance to the Hop On/off busses. We were right across from the Scott monument, the Princes Gardens. We enjoyed the street musicians and overall ambiance of the area. We felt safe wherever we walked. Shopping nearby. The hotel had a lovely lounge where we could have a snack, drink or tea to rest after a long day of touring. The staff was helpful and friendly.

United States of AmericaThe location was extremely convenient. Although we had a room that opened to the main street (Princes) the road noise was minimal. All staff were exemplary. We had a mobility challenged individual with us and they made our movements inside the hotel as effortless as possible. The room we were assigned I referred to as the Penthouse. It was on the sixth floor. The elevator made it very easy to get there (event if there was a little wait due to the size of the elevator). The views from our room were spectacular. Although we didnt partake in breakfast, we did have an evening meal in the lounge. Food selection was very good and everything came out wonderfully. I am a seasoned traveler. I have been in many century+ year old hotels. This hotel has been kept up quite well. We will definitely stay there again in our travels to Edinburgh. Also, the hotel is super close to the Airport buses (less that 150 feet from the front door).
United States of AmericaIts proximity to everything. It stands by the Waverly Market. The entrance to the hotel is 1 min away walking distance from the Airlink bus stop which was super convenient. Amazing views of the castle. A hotel that has been working since 1867, it was an honour experiencing a little of that history.
