A charming inn, steeped in history, located in a beautiful riverside hamlet. The room was compact, but very comfortable and clean. The restaurant served excellent food and beer. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Luckily for us, this location was a clue in our photographic challenge and was a perfect place to stay.
Situated in Huntingdon centre, the George Hotel is a historical inn with elegant rooms and a traditional ale bar. Huntingdon Railway Station is a 10-minute walk away.

We were going to St Ives for the annual and amazing Old Riverport Jazz and Blues Festival - now in its 9th year - four days of free !!! awesome bands which coincides with the Heritage Open day in St Ives.
Because the music was hosted for free it meant everyone had a bit more money available to pay to get to St Ives and / or to have a bit of treat. St Ives has the perfect medieval layout for such an event and the weather was perfect for the outdoor music events. Discovering the quirky venues in such a beautiful historical riverside town was a real joy, and the quality of the muscians made it a genuinally special bit of magic.

Lovely little riverside town with plenty of amenities.
Lovely little riverside town with plenty of amenities. Some great restaurants, we'd recommend Di Ritas Italian, and the Hambleton Bakery (next door to Waitrose).
We had a charter trip on the Electric Boat company, and that's 5Star! You must try it, but book in advance.

I like the mix of little shops and cafes, and there are lovely walks by the river and beyond. We enjoyed the fabulous food at the Italian restaurant on the waterfront, and its a good idea to book, it’s very popular. It’s very easy to get around, with a lot of paved walk ways, and we walked everywhere. I was disappointed in the amount of larger shops that have closed, but sadly this is the same in many small towns, so I am not being critical of St Ives.

Interesting and attractive Cambridgeshire market town.
Interesting and attractive Cambridgeshire market town. We were only over-nighting, so didn't have the opportunity to investigate the town's attractions. The riverside looked especially pretty. Definitely enough promise to tempt us back for a day trip.

No thru traffic which made walking around the town very pleasant; old river bridge out of the town and river quay is delightful. Very old buildings to admire and the flower market together with the food market on another morning made shopping a really enjoyable experience for the visitor to the town.

Especially liked the ion\pod area. Coffee excellent at £1.75.
After 1,1/2 mile walk the bacon rolls were excellent. Butchers thick bacon , fresh baked rolls and butter. The flowers and cleanliness of the walks. Very friendly atmosphere. Had to go back for another coffe and cake on the walk back. Interesting crafts and individual shops. Will go back and spend more time there.
Lovely comfortable house. Home from home. Visiting for a weekend to see family. The house made a great base and was an easy walk into St Ives. Very comfy beds. Great shower. The property was very clean and had a nice garden to relax in. The house was well equipped. Ray is a fantastic host and was super helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful size property in a fantastic location with parking, close to all amenities in St Ives which is a lovely town.
Apartment was more spacious than photographs show, the rooms were large and bright.
Walk in shower was a good size but the extractor fan did not work which causes a lot of steam.
The provided toiletries were a nice touch.
A very old but popular pub in the village of Holywell a 10-15 min drive to st Ives.
Free parking.
Only a few rooms.
Room with very comfortable bed.
My single room with double bed faced inwards to a roofed area so no sound from pub below.
Huge cooked breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.
Friendly staff
Great staff, especially the manger on duty who went out of her way to resolve a couple of small issues. Really friendly and personable. I haven’t been here for years and it is much improved - lovely breakfast. Superb location and without question the best choice for somewhere to stay in St Ives.

The bed linen was immaculate and the room spotless.
The breakfast was very good, and delivered promptly.
Would particularly like to commend Elaina, who is a real asset to the hotel.
Perfect location, room lovely and clean. Hotel is at the end of being refurbished so all new. reception not finished yet but nice, clean and tidy. Evening guy was great, advised us on local pubs/restaurants. Area feels really safe.
Exceptional value for money. Perfect location for a gig at Burgess Hall and only a short walk into St Ives centre. Nice little touches like tea, coffee, milk, biscuits etc. Cosy little set up with own courtyard. Very clean.
Penthouse was very clean and well equipped, information sent by Simon to gain entry to the apartment was clear and precise.
Nice residential area, a bit to far for us to walk into St Ives (but we are getting on a bit)
Great location for the town and access to river walks. Nice spacious kitchen with big table for family meals. Well equipped kitchen. Bedroom and bathroom accommodation good. Helpful host answered queries promptly.
I stayed at Slepe Hotel as was working at a local festival for the weekend. Nothing was too much trouble for the extremely friendly staff and they were very accommodating about my late arrivals back each night.
We loved the accommodation, it was so central, tastefully decorated and perfect for a family meet up. The host was friendly, thoughtful and accessible. Great value for money with several amenities nearby.
Great value and excellent location for access to St Ives. If travelling by car, the availability of Hotel car park is a big bonus since parking elsewhere in St Ives can be awkward and expensive.
Very well appointed and immediate impression was of high quality accommodation.
Further exploration revealed a few pointers for improvement for 'luxury accommodation '
Easy to find located right on the main strip, even though the hotel doesn’t have parking there’s quite a few lots very close by and extremely cheap for 24 hours a day
The apartment was incredibly clean and much more spacious than it appeared in the photographs and it was fantastically located for all the amenities in St Ives.
Great location for the jazz and blues festival weekend. This hotel is under new management and the new funky decor gives it a fresh , contemporary look.
