Stunning old country house with wooden beams and tons of character in idyllic grounds and location. Very comfortable room - with beautiful views - and a lovely modern shower room. Hosts extremely friendly and interesting to talk to - I was made very welcome. The breakfast was amazing - homemade brown bread, a selection of delicious homemade jams, and eggs with yolks that were nearly orange - all enjoyed in a charming, sunny breakfast room. It was a real treat to stay here - it feels like you are getting away from it all and enjoying a bit of self-indulgent luxury and peace in such an enchanting, serene, rural setting and house. I would highly recommend and definitely go there again!

Property info

Ollivers farm is located on the Essex-Suffolk borders. It is a medieval farmhouse set back from the road surrounded by farmland with glorious views over the surrounding Essex countryside. This beautiful property is now a family run B&B with acres of land and incredible views. We offer a choice of a double, twin or single room, each of which is well appointed and tastefully decorated. Included in your booking price is a cooked breakfast. Ollivers Farm takes its name from John Oliver, reputedly an esquire of Sir John Hawkwood of Sible Hedingham. Hawkwood made his fortune in the 14th century by raising and hiring mercenary armies all over Europe and was buried in Florence Cathedral, where his memorial can be seen to this day.
