A small, yet quite lovely little place. The thing that makes it is the people. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, a great place!
There isn’t an abundance of shops and if you want a quick and cheap bite to eat there are a few weatherspoon/hungry horse type of places around.

A cute village feel with some lovely history and quite a few cute shops. Plenty of choices for take away food locally and our host had thoughtfully left these with our personal welcome note, which was a lovely touch.

We stayed near to Alton Towers, and it was a short drive to the resort. Alton Towers is in the middle of nowhere, and signage sometimes led us part way, and then just stopped. The SatNav lost signal, and Google Maps saved the day. We had a fantastic day - it was our granddaughter's 4th birthday, and her first trip to a theme part. We were lucky with the weather, so couldn't fault anything. The queues for the rides weren't too bad, and as we brought picnics, we didn't need to wait for refreshment.

Booked a hotel in Cheadle as it was close to Alton Castle where we were visiting. Had a meal in the High Street which was fine but not really too much else to do in the area although there is much beautiful countryside if you are a rambler/walker!

Only stayed here overnight enroute to Alton Towers.
Only stayed here overnight enroute to Alton Towers.
We weren't impressed with the restaurants there, The Wheatsheaf closed the kitchen early as they ran out of food! By the time we walked to the Hungry Horse they'd also stopped serving food so the only alternatives were takeaways but we had no cutlery to eat it at our guest house - not ideal when you have a tired 5 year old with you.
Other than that fine.

Cheadle is ideally placed for Alton towers being 10mins away...
Cheadle is ideally placed for Alton towers being 10mins away by car. A supermarket pub and many takeaways available on offer. I would recommend the Master Potter for food as it's extremely good value for money and the food is great.
There is a park nearby for the little ones and there is also the chutney steam valley trains 10mins away as well.
Pam was friendly and greeted us as we arrived. The room is comfy and was very spacious. The house itself is gorgeous and has a huge garden to wander in. The proximity to Cheadle means you're never short of ammenities. If you are going to Alton Towers I'd wholly recommend here Abbot's Haye but even if you're avoiding the park this is a great peak district location. The breakfast is a full english option but there's also cereals if that's more your avenue. The breakfast is execellent and was served very quickly.
It is warm and welcoming. While having a pre dinner drink we ask what the dinner menu was, were rather taken aback it was pizza, but were assured they were excellent. How true, they were exceptional, and I am not a pizza fan, generally. Breakfast was as delicious,, with the best coffee we had in all our English journeys. Very comfortable room, lots of space. This is a lovely place to stay, and so close to Pugin’s gem of a church, St Giles, which is why we were in Cheadle after all. highly recommended.
Clean room, warm Stokie welcome, very comfortable bed, excellent location. Set on the edge of town, modern room that's great value. The bed is large and comfortable, bathroom facilities clean and modern. The whole room is a lot nicer than some four star plus boutique hotels we've stayed in ! Well done Abbey.
Lovely gardens, within easy reach of Cheadle town centre. It was an easy journey from where we were staying to Alton Towers and Stoke, while being in a peaceful location. Peter was very helpful and we liked the fact that the rooms were attended to each day (clean towels, new soap, bed made etc).
The location was perfect for my training based in Cheadle High Street, and the house was not far from the local shops, restaurants, etc, all conveniently within walking distance.
Plenty of parking on the street is available.
Very pleasant stay with Abbey at Cheadle. Comfortable well priced accomodation close to everything we planned to do. Great recommendations for places to eat.
Would definitely return if in area again
In a lovely rural area, but within walking distance of Cheadle, one mile. Grounds of hotel lovely, plenty of outdoor seating. Breakfast was included and was fabulous. Hosts were lovely.
Stayed here for two nights while visiting family. The room was great and the grounds of the hotel were lovely. The owners were very friendly. The breakfast was also very nice.
