The location is stunning and the caravan exceeded our expectations. The place is difficult to reach without a car, but it really worth the effort. The surroundings are beautiful and the caravan is close to Scafell Pike, Wast Water and other marvellous places in the West part of the Lake District. There are small shops at 15 minutes drive for emergency shopping, otherwise bigger supermarkets and shops are available in the closest cities such as Whitehaven.

Parkgate Farm Holidays provides a peaceful farmstead site with a few sheep and friendly donkeys at the foot of the Eskdale and Wasdale valleys in Cumbria's Western Lake District. You've got easy access to the fells directly from the property, and there are also several good west-coast beaches within ten minutes' drive. There's a heritage steam railway line that runs near the farm, and there are several popular visitor attractions within easy reach such as Muncaster Castle, Beacon Museum and The Rum Story. Harter Cottage is a place where you can be truly at one with nature.
Welcome to Parkgate Farm where you can enjoy a very relaxed stay. There is no reception/office on site and we leave you to your own devices but are always available by phone if you need assistance with anything. Peter lives at the farm where you'll see him tending his donkeys and Rachel and Nick live in nearby Wasdale with their children.
You will find yourself surrounded by nature amongst the fells but also close to the coast where you'll find golden beaches. The Bower House Inn is a good pub nearby, you'll find a well stocked shop in Gosforth as well as our pizzeria, The Wild Olive and there is a petrol station in Holmrook.
