A charming village near the glorious South Downs. We had difficulty finding somewhere to eat on the Sunday night but Ruby and Monty was a little gem of a restaurant (Italian - pizza/pasta) that accommodated us at short notice - they served the best salads and bruschetta I have ever eaten!

An old house steeped in history with the same family running it for seven generations. Very friendly greeting, all staff helpful, courteous and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was well prepared and well served, so nice to have quality linen on the tables. Quite rare these days.
It was a shame and disgraceful, that another party of guests were so rude to the staff which caused upset at breakfast.
A gem of a place to stay and we wished we could have stayed longer. Very comfortable bed, which makes all the difference for a good night's sleep.
The next village along the narrow road had a couple of nice eating places for an evening meal.

We stopped in Petersfield for lunch, briefly.
There had been a market earlier, which we sadly missed, they were setting up for an event in the main square which sounded interesting.
We did spend some time in the village of Buriton, wonderful walks, again, sadly not enough time. May have to return...

From the moment we arrived we were amazed how beautiful the barn was. Cosy, comfortable and designed to a high spec. It has everything you need to make you feel you are at home. We stayed over Christmas and was welcomed to a decorated tree which was a nice touch.
Close to pubs and supermarkets, although you need your car unless you are happy to walk about 40 mins to the nearest pub. We loved it so much we’ve booked again to stay in June.

Very poor service.
Very poor service. Receptionist rude and dismissive when I arrived. Not given the room I had booked. Barely space to walk around the bed. Bar and restaurant closed at 8pm. Mini bar not topped up. No Wi-Fi code in the room. Coffee machine didn’t work. One tea bag!!
Overpriced . Avoid.

I grew up in Petersfield.
I grew up in Petersfield. It used to be a great old market town. Everyone knew each other and was a very friendly town and the same could be said for all the surrounding areas and villages.
But allas time changes and I couldn't say the same today.
Too many strangers have moved in and spoiled the whole area. For example the heath and lake. It used to be a clean quite and a safe place to walk. I couldn't say that today. It's now a dirty untidy place and I certainly wouldn't like to walk there after dark as I did in the old days.
I did not have the breakfast because I was rushing to go to work I was also pleased with the welcome which I received from the young girl who was on duty she is so kind and down to earth when I struggled to get the taxi to take me to Petersfield train station she spoke to her father about my problem and the father took me to the station they are the best people I have never met in my life If it was not them I was going to be late at work my millions of thanks to the father and daughter
Mike , who ran the show is a good guy but was not supported by sufficient staff. Staff shortages are being experienced by many hospitality outlets since Brexit. As a consequence some of our food at dinner could have been better or even the right meal. Having said that Mike did his best to put things right. Choice of 4 different ales helped as our stay coincided with record breaking temperatures. 33.5 degrees & 38 degrees. location is very good, close to Petersfield & ample parking.
Fab family run hotel, with a welcoming & accomodating team!
Located in a charming little village about 10 minutes from Petersfield station. (1 hour train from Waterloo)
It's been completely refurbished & they've done a great job on the interiors. Modern & clean with some old local charm.
Breakfast gets a 10/10 - we'll have to return to try the evening food.
We'll are looking forward to returning in September with our bridal party for our wedding weekend.
A quiet little Inn away from all the commotion of the town/city. Friendly staff and an amazing little pub attached with delicious food! The room was very cozy and comfortable as well as very clean. The private bathroom was also very clean with fresh towels brought by every morning and a generously sized tub to soak in. Wi-Fi worked well in the area as well.
Very nice pub/inn on what was the old Portsmouth to London route. It's a bit outside of town, about 1.2 miles from the centre of Petersfield. I did expect that being on the A272 it would be noisy but that wasn't the case. The room was exactly as described with a comfortable bed, clean, good quality linen and a decent en-suite. Breakfast was very good too.
Immaculately and tastefully decorated and furnished property in the heart of Petersfield. The beds and linen were on par with Four Seasons; plus one perfectly firm and one perfectly soft pillow each. Breakfast was excellent, served on the patio without fuss as it was a sunny morning.
Stayed here for 1 night to attend a wedding at a venue up the road. The room was good, spacious, and clean, and the shower etc.. worked well. The bed was comfortable.
We ate both dinner and breakfast at the venue and would highly recommend the food made at the pub.
the last 1-mile country lane is a little small but easily accessed, good country walks on the doorstep, with Petersfield on 7km away. The location was great for access to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, only a 30 minute drive.
The breakfast was superb. great selection and lovely cooked options. This was a stop-over on a long journey, but very good location, handy for the town. Very clean, compact hotel with nice gargen as well.
Felt like a home not an impersonal hotel. All requests were attended to by Chris who was the perfect host. The location was excellent, about a 10 minute walk from the main square.
Highly recommended.
Met Janet when we arrived. Made us feel very welcome. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. If I was holidaying in the area again I certainly would check if it was available.
Very handy for breaking our journey. Excelent meal in the evening and with the bar available we had no need to leave the hotel. A good place to rest and prepare for our onward journey.
Clean accomodation, great location easy to get to petersfield couple of good restaurants in petersfield. Nice pub with good food if you don't want to travel very far.
