The house is perfect. Be ready for stairs though as it has 3 levels. Had everything you needed (except a potato masher lol). Cleanliness 100%. Parking was plenty adequate. Location is perfect, not too much of a walk to town.
TV in each bedroom is a bonus.
I loved staying there, we were on a trip, we had stay overs in Scotland, London, Liverpool and Huddersfield. Huddersfield was by far the best of the accommodation. I could easily live there.
Would 100% recommend this to other travelers.

Evening food is delicious and nicely presented
Good choice of gluten free options.
Nightmare getting AWAY from a John Smiths Stadium concert!
Gridlocked around the stadium for 2-3 hours.
Many taxi firms refuse to do pick ups at this time.
Seek refuge in The Yorkshire Rose pub next to the Stadium.
Hope Hotel could put on a return transfer somehow!
First concert right next to a hillside covered in trees!
Beautiful Yorkshire countryside with lots to see and do so close by.

It's easy to get around on foot.
It's easy to get around on foot. There are a lot of interesting looking places to eat. The Turkish cafe did a great breakfast platter that was absolutely the highlight of my stay.
A lot of the town feels run down and at night a little unsafe. There are some okay nightlife spots, but on Friday night they were nearly empty, as were most of the eateries I passed.

Huddersfield (despite the fact that it has TWO Wetherspoons)...
Huddersfield (despite the fact that it has TWO Wetherspoons) is a very forward-thinking town for pubs and real ale in particular...two excellent pubs at either end of the railway station proves this point. Maybe being a university town makes it a popular place for thse things, but It only takes 'short' bus ride into the local villages to enjoy the scenery, brown stone buildings and decent chippies (and more pubs) if you run out of things to do. Amazing town hall (decent gigs) and a couple of theatres for us culturally-minded folks. Just prepare yourself for getting really cold at certain times of the year.

Loved Beaumont Park.
Loved Beaumont Park. In need of new safer paths but a fantastic Victorian park with beautiful views. Very steep as on a hillside and some unkept pathways so not for those who are unsteady.
Castle hill with huge views and a large Victorian tower.
The room was cosy with really comfortable beds, an armchair, decent shower and a beautiful view. The pub itself has been recently refurbished, still keeping its local village pub charm. Breakfast was included: anything from full English to a bacon sandwich and was really tasty. Richard is a friendly and accommodating host and I would recommend to anyone to stay here in this beautiful village of Thurstonland at the top of the hill
The hotel is nicely finished, the finest in Huddersfield without doubt. The cooked breakfast is beautiful, spot on. Coffee machines in the rooms are great and the bathroom facilities are stylish, with great complementary toiletries. Beds are comfortable, and rooms are too. Staff are lovely and help you out with anything you need. We didn't have dinner this time we stayed, but I'd recommend based on eating there last summer.
The location of this hotel is perfect as it is right in the centre of town so I felt safe as a woman travelling alone. The hotel is much more chic than anything else I have tried in Huddersfield and the room was very nice - clean and comfortable, with those little extras like a bathrobe and a fridge bar. The lady at the reception desk was exceptionally helpful and friendly.
I always enjoy the stay there, it is clean, and rooms have everything you need and it has heating. It's a good location for what I need and accessible on foot from town. Hotel was always accomodating to my requests, no complains. I like that some rooms overlook the back garden and hills.
The location was great and the staff were excellent.
Had a meal in the bar on the evening and the breakfast in the morning. Both were excellent. Freshly cooked, tasty, and staff were just so helpful.
All was excellent value, the hotel, the food, and the location.
First time in Huddersfield hotel great no problems trip Advisor gives a terrible.view and the hotel should have these removed very comfortable great room only problem was I requested a bath but a small problem would stay again no problems.
Friendly reception staff. A small hotel, and so no delays when booking in. Easy parking. Close and easily accessible to M62. The room was clean and easy to heat. Everything worked OK.
Well equipped kitchen, warm, clean, a good shower and a friendly host who communicates well. The location is great too - a nice tree lined road a short walk from the Town centre.
The Lodge is a wonderful place to park in Huddersfield City Center. Close to food, shopping and the train station.
I often stay for 15 days at a time while in town for work.
