This hotel has what we like about the UK: An old, stylish building with a good atmosphere, very friendly staff, somewhat dated, but clean rooms, good beds and a great english breakfast. It also has a bar, so you can anjoy a nice drink in the evening in a cosy chamber. The grounds also seem very nice, but we didn't actually explore them. We can understand why this is a popular wedding location!

Very relaxing and beautiful place. Lots of mild wildlife around (ducks, rabbits, hedgehogs). The swimming and the SPA are adding a modern tone. The building itself is a renovated country house of 19th century with quite some history. The breakfast is traditional, including local delicious products, by the picturesque lake. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

The property dates back to 15th century and it is absolutely beautiful in 75 acres of lovely walks. Beds very comfy and food is fabulous. It is about 20 mins from Colchester and you have use of swimming pool with Sauna and steam room

With contemporary style and comfort within an historic listed country house, this privately owned hotel sits discreetly amid 75 acres of Essex parkland, within 30 minutes of Stansted Airport.

Partially surrounded by a moat, Prested Hall offers 15th and 18th century interiors, stunning Art Nouveau décor and elegant 1930s extensions.

During health club opening hours, adult guests are welcome to use the well-equipped gym. There are also outdoor lawn tennis courts available.

With 13 attractive rooms with attached bathroom, a separate luxury room, an adjacent health club and established events facilities, the owners of Prested Hall have attempted to create a place of quality, where comfort, style and relaxation exist without cold formality. Sunday lunch, afternoon tea and evening meals are available at Prested Hall, and local ingredients are used wherever possible.

Hotel guests will find helpful staff and attention to detail, with fresh flowers throughout the house, along with books to browse through, DVDs to borrow, real coffee in the rooms, breakfast house specials and, always, the pleasure of being away from city stress amid beautiful surroundings.

    Thank you for your enquiry. Our sauna and steam room are located off of poolside. These facilities are open and free for hotel guest use. However please note that the health club operates a timed booking system, which needs to be booked in advance

  • Is you pool open and at what times. Can my responsible 12 year old use it with us? I appreciate we may need to book a time but if children are banned - pointless us staying.

    Prested Health Club is an adult only members club and as such swimming for children under 16 is restricted to set times. These are as follows: Saturday -11.45am - 12.30pm & 4.15pm til 5pm * Sunday - 3.30pm til 4.15pm.

  • Can you come to the spa if you're not staying at the hotel?

    You can book treatments in our spa as an outside guest. The Health club facilities, which include the pool and gym are only for use by members and hotel guests.

  • Will the spa and pool be open between 29 -30 October? do you have an evening meal menue, please

    The pool and spa will be open on the 29th but must be booked in advance due to restrictions. Our restaurant also runs each evening from Monday to Saturday.

  • Hi , Assuming the current roadmap plans go ahead, can you confirm your spa and pool will be open by 3rd June?

    We can confirm that our Spa will be re-opening on Monday 12th April for individual treatments. Our Health Club will also be opening on this date, but due to restrictions, we are sadly unable to guarantee access for residents.

    Our Health club is currently open and is operating with limited access to the spa, gym and swimming pool due to the current government guidelines. Access cannot be guaranteed so will need to be checked upon arrival.
