Bolthole Retreats was founded in 2017 by Martin McWilliam and is based in Cheltenham. We are the leading independent agency for Cotswold holiday rental properties. We work closely with owners and housekeepers to ensure that guests have a truly memorable stay. We pride ourselves on our local knowledge, whether it be of a local farm shop, cycle routes or events. Our aim is to enable guests to have the opportunity to enjoy authentic Cotswold experiences, from the Cotswold experts, in a lovely Cotswold property that suits their needs.

PLEASE BE AWARE: Contractors are undertaking building works near the property during 2022 from Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm, you may encounter some noise disturbance during your visit. Princess Elizabeth Cottage is a charming and carefully restored, 2-bedroom cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 1 king size double room and 1 twin room, with 1 family bathroom. The cottage is a semi-detached (alongside Lady Jane Grey), two storey property with a fully-equipped modern kitchen and a spacious living and dining area that leads out to a private courtyard with seating. Upstairs are two comfortable and well-appointed bedrooms and a modern bathroom with a fixed shower over a bathtub. Princess Elizabeth cottage was originally part of a paper mill, which was restored to make two cottages (Lady Jane Grey and Princess Elizabeth) and two apartments (St Kenelm and Oliver Cromwell), preserving the original exposed walls and beams throughout. (St Kenelm sits directly above Princess Elizabeth and Oliver Cromwell sits directly above Lady Jane Grey.) Please note that additional guests above the maximum capacity are not permitted.

Winchcombe is an elegant and timeless Cotswold town. Venture down the narrow side streets to find a mix of Cotswold stone cottages and black and white half-timbered buildings. The town is a famous centre for walkers, yet also boasts a number of traditional pubs and delicious cafes, galleries, boutique clothing, interior design and antique shops to browse. During your stay at Sudeley Castle Country Cottages you are entitled to free admission to Sudeley Castle and Gardens during the Castle’s open season (except for separately ticketed events). If you wish to visit the Castle and gardens during your stay, please take your room key or booking receipt with you to the admissions desk.
