What a fabulous hotel this is, set in a tiny beautiful village of Montgomary in Wales . Expect fantastic uneven wobbly floors which is very much expected re being built in Tudor times, def added to experience. Bed very comfy. The star of the show is the staff.. Hannah on reception went over and above to help us with poss late arrival re booked dinner, she was a very warm happy reassuring person, def fantastic front of house, she sent us the menu asked to to pre order and would let chef know, she said not to worry and we would be accommodated, such a relief, food was freshly cooked when we got there and the lasagne was rhe best i have tasted . Sarah in the bar and breakfast was so warm and helpful re our requests different to menu, she asked our names and wished us well..there were other bar staff both lovely but did not get here names.. Such a refreshing change to get a lovely hotel and fantastic staff.. We would def recommend this hotel if looking in this area of Wales

Hyssington is a tiny rural village which is perfectly situated to use as base to explore the beautiful Shropshire hills as well as mid Wales. Within 30 mins drive there are beautiful walks, numerous medieval castles, and historical sites such as Offa's Dyke and a wonderful Iron Age Hill Fort. If you're looking for the bright lights of a bustling city or town, this is not the destination for you. If you like to relax to the sound of birdsong and bleating sheep, with the occasional stunning sunset, it could be!
