  • I have a new job in Douglas and need to self isolate on arrival. However I can't see Ravenscliffe Lodge on the IOM Government's list of registered accommodation, so wonder if you can confirm if you are able to take someone like me??

  • if covid sees the islan d in lock down- would i still be able to have a 100 % refund please - also we could not come if we would have to quarantine post visit ( and during visit) and would hope for a 100 refund is this was the case-do we have veiws from the rooms? thanks

    Current advise is not to travel. The IoM borders are closed until it it safe to travel. Advance deposits are non-refundable, though you can amend your travel dates. Our advise would be to take out travel insurance in case you have to cancel

  • Hi, Was looking to book 7 nights from 16th May. The short list was for EV charging, though its not showing in the list of ameneties. Can you confirm Please EV charging is available and the type of charger (type1/type2 unteathered/tethered) thanks :)

    Thank you for contacting Ravenscliffe Lodge. Presently we do not have an installed EV charger at the property, which has been delayed due to Covid-19. We hope it will have been fitted by October this year, but unlikely before

    Thank you for contacting Ravenscliffe lodge Isle of Man. The property unit has two private bathrooms both with bath, wash basin shower & toilet. One of them is en-suit off the aster bedroom. the second is on the first floor landing next to the twin

    Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate pets due to there being free roaming chickens in the grounds of the property.

    Guests are charged 50% of the total price if they cancel after reservation & total price of the reservation if they cancel in the 42 days before arrival. Guest are charged a prepayment of 50% on reservation and 50% 42 days before arrival.

Ravenscliffe House built in 1849 is considered one of the original 10 mansion houses in Douglas and commands promenant views of Douglas Bay from above the entrance to Douglas Harbour. It was orignally built by Downes Edwards an inventor who learned how to preserve vegetables in tin cans. His Daughter Mary was also a well known book illustrator in the late 1890's. The historic house has more recently been used as a film location for the film "Albatross" (2009) starting Julie Ormond, Jessica Brown-Findlay, Felicity Jones & Sebastian Kock in which the property was the "Cliff House".

David & Elaine Quayle have owned the property since 1999, where they have lived and brought up their three boys. Ravenscliffe is our passion and we love to spend our weekends about the grounds and making use of the facilities the property has to offer. Although only 10 minutes walk to the heart of the town centre, the property is very secluded with electric entrance gates making it wonderfully private to the owners and their guests.

Douglas Headland is a beautifully reserved conservation area of open parkland which attract locals and visitors to walk or sit and admire the incredible view over Douglas Bay, Douglas Town Centre and the commerical harbour entrance below. You can also walk the coastal path for miles, visiting the various memorials in the area, the light house on the cliff edge & the camera obscura. Just 10 minutes walk down to the inner harbour you will find all the local bars, nightlife & restaurants within walking distance of the sea terminal, bus station, steam railway, horse drawn trams, electric railways and shopping centre.
