Beautiful location in the New Forest. Lots of scenic roads of course. The restaurant was exceptional. We invited friends for afternoon tea and it was delicious. We also dined in the restaurant - superb! Breakfasts were great.

Service was exemplary, location, grounds and hotel are stunning. The hotel kindly arranged for us to hire a bike and that was seamlessly efficient and charged to our room. (the bike company in nearby Brockenhurst also changed it for us as the one we requested was too small). We saw deer roaming on the estate :-). The Alhambra room was a beautiful room to dine in. The a la carte restaurant food was simply fabulous. The hotel also arranged to show the football socially distanced on a big screen with table service. Highly recommend the whole experience. Special mention to Sam on the service team, Rebecca in the spa (marvelous facial!), and Archie in the cleaning team who was jolly cheeful and helpful.

Breakfast was very good - with a selection of well presented food to choose from. The room and ambiance was lovely. My room overlooked the back garden; the sealed room for air conditioning was a little difficult to get used to. We had cocktails and afternoon tea on the terrace, playing croquet in the sun which was brilliant. We explored the garden and maze which was fun.. There is easy access to the forest and ornamental drive. The azaelia were spectacular, we even caught sight of a baby fox in the garden.

Loved the location and setting. The hotel itself is beautiful, interesting architecture and history. Each room has its own style and feel. Everywhere was kept exceptionally clean. The hotel was spacious with no feeling overcrowding. All staff couldn’t do enough to make our stay an enjoyable and comforting. They were all extremely accommodating to any request we made. Room housekeeping service was excellent Food was wonderful- huge choice for breakfast , fine dining exquisite and the more informal cuisine of the conservatory was equally tasty and of a high standard. Bar service was excellent Beautiful surroundings on the hotel doorstep- great area to explore on foot or bike
