Keswick is a beautiful town, friendly people and lots of different walks for varying abilities. If planning a trip, take the time to look at the various eateries in the town itself as they get fully booked quite quickly, well worth booking in advance of travelling. We had a delightful meal at the Royal Oak, but there are numerous other places. Special mention to the Dog and Gun, great atmosphere in there, humans sometimes outnumbered by the dogs!

If you're new to the Lake District, Keswick is a wonderful place for a first visit, I've visited since being a child and still find much to enjoy in the area. There is accommodation to suit everyone from a great YHA, hotels, bed and breakfasts self catering, caravaning and camping. All set with in some of the most stunning scenery Cumbria has to offer.
There are lakeside walks suitable for all and mountains and fells aplenty.
You can take a sail around the lake on one of the ferries, hire row and motor boats during the spring and summer
Keswick hosts many fine places to shop, eat and drink.
Great bus services to other lakes and places of interest are available from Keswick these are a fantastic way to take in the beauty of the surrounding area. Especially for those with Kids, an open topped bus is a must. Lots for all ages to enjoy. I will be back soon.
The apartment is within a 2-3 minute walk of Keswick town centre giving quick access to many restaurants/pubs/shops. Despite the close proximity the flat is in a quiet residential location opposite St John's church which can be seen from the main living room. There is an allocated parking space at the rear of the property which is a bonus. It is well appointed with good amenities and kitchen has all the basics you should need.
Being a regular visitor on the YHA network, I can honestly say that YHA Keswick is definitely in my top 3.
Fantastic location with easy access to the town centre and its amenities, and the YHA staff are always exceptionally friendly and professional. The overall feel of the place is fantastic, and I look forward to staying here again.
Huge thumbs up from me. 👍
Everything was perfect and we loved the attention to detail in our generously sized room. It was a bonus that we could park our car right outside the door. Easy short stroll into the bustling town centre. Paul and Christine are hospitable hosts and we would definitely recommend a visit. Looking forward to repeating our stay sometime. Thanks for a great weekend!
Located overlooking the main square in Keswick means it can get a bit noisy but the benefits of easy access to all of the town centre amenities far outweighed that inconvenience. The room was spacious and the bathroom was very modern and well equipped. The hotel public areas were well maintained and the restaurant service and food quality was very good.
Booked the half board package and dinner far exceeded expectations. Old world hotel, full of character and very unlike many sterile, characterless chain hotels. Room good size and bed v comfortable. Sadly no view but overall great stay. Great position quiet yet short and easy walk into town centre.
The apartment was fantastic and had everything you need. So lovely and immaculate. It is in the middle of Keswick town centre too and we will definitely stay again if we can but it appears to be pretty fully booked up for the next few months. Not surprised . A wonderful stay .. highly recommended…
The location is exceptional, close to Keswick attractions and Derwent Water. Bassenthwaite Lake is just a footpath away. The hotel is extremely dog friendly and four legged guests brighten the place even more. Breakfast options are great for even fussy eaters such as myself.
Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. They accommodated requests for early check-in and breakfast. The room had plenty of tea/coffee/milk options including decaf. Great location near the town centre.
Location was5 minutes from Keswick town centre. Hosts were terrific, friendly and extremely knowledgable of the area. Hotel was spotless. Breakfast varied and top quality. Definitely going’s back soon.
The George Hotel is a great little inn in picturesque Keswick... we had an excellent stay. The food in the pub was delicious. The rooms were spacious and airy. Would definitely stay again!
Excellent location with Keswick town centre being a 20 min walk.
Craig and Claire were fantastic hosts ensuring my stay was perfect.
The breakfast was excellent with good choices.
Very clean. Had all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. Great location for Keswick. 10 minutes walk to town centre. Dog friendly. Good sized enclosed garden for the dogs.
Clean room, quiet room, comfortable bed. Views of the lake fantastic, Good choice of breakfast menu. Car park a bonus for a small charge. close to town centre. Friendly staff.
Excellent location very close to the town centre but also very quiet. Car parking was an important consideration so to have a reserved space ticked every box.
