A pretty well situated professional b and b. Home-from-home style with the most beautiful garden on the river derwent. Clean and airy with lots light from large windows. Hosts accommodated me last minute. friendly and did everything to make my stay comfortable and I felt very safe. Very good housekeeping services and I took breakfast on the lawn! Highly recommended.

On the edge of the Peak District, the Riverbank B&B sits on the banks of the River Derwent in Matlock. Riverbank offers country-house style rooms, free fishing and free parking.

Rooms at the family-run Riverbank Guest House feature bathrooms with power showers and hairdryers. The individually designed rooms also include a TV, radio and tea/coffee making facilities.

Cooked English and continental breakfasts are served in the quaint dining room. Produce is sourced locally and the Riverbank can cater for most dietary requirements.

The lounge has comfortable seating and free Wi-Fi. The large garden leads down to the river where guests can fish for trout. On the across from side of the river is Hall Lays Park.

Matlock town center has several fine restaurants and pubs. Matlock Train Station is just a 5-minute walk away.

  • Hi We’re looking for a quiet hotel that is near to walks around the Peak District. I was wondering if there are many walks located near the hotel?

    We are in a quiet area of Matlock and have a variety of easy or challenging walks from the guesthouse. Alternatively we aren't far from Chatsworth/Bakewell leading into the Peak District for more walks.

  • It says towels and sheets extra cost do you have to take your own.

    Not sure why it says this, but yes we have always provided hand and bath towels, along with sheets and bedding.

    Yes we do have safe storage for bikes. We have many cyclists stay with us and have found easy access to many routes.

  • Is it possible to check in after 20:00? I would only arrive to Matlock around 20:30.

  • Is the available double room for 24th to 28th May on top or 1st floor as can only manage first floor without a struggle.

    We can sometimes have early check in from 2pm but it depends on how busy the guesthouse is. Guests are able to park from 11am and can leave luggage early too if they are not travelling by car.
