Stirling is a lovely area.
Stirling is a lovely area. The castle is really interesting but there is a lot of walking on cobbles. We are getting on a bit so found it a bit uphill and down dale but well worth a visit. 20 minutes drive from Stirling are The Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel. The Kelpies are amazing and if you book a tour they take you inside, a must for any engineer. Falkirk Wheel is more interesting watching from outside but is an absolute master in engineering. Stirling town centre had a lovely shopping Mal we just found it busy and difficult to park.

Stirling is my home town, but I have lived in the Highlands for many years now and always enjoy returning. I cannot see it through the eyes of a stranger, but I am proud of what it has to offer. You are literally walking through history on the streets of the upper town below the castle. Climb the Wallace monument and enjoy views from Edinburgh in the east to Argyll in the west. Play golf on one of the finest courses in Scotland with lovely views over the Carse. I could go on. Stirling is a must-see for visitors to Scotland.

Lots of shopping and nice eating places , my trip was just before Christmas and the hotel and the streets were looking very festive, everything was nearby. We stayed at the Golden Lion Hotel, five minutes walk from the bus station, fantastic location great breakfast and reasonably priced. There was a Weatherspoons pub was just up from the hotel, offering low cost eats and drinks and it had a built in wood burning fire in the centre of it, rather welcoming from the cold.
The city centre well decorated too with Christmas lights.
I would just like to say that the staff and the hotel were unbelievable. We could not have been happier with our stay and since I traveled with my husband and 6 of our friends I got to see four different rooms and they were ALL amazing. A wonderful introduction to the area as we were just arriving in Scotland from America and close restaurants to walk to nearby. Beautiful area. Kind and informative and very funny owner too! Couldn't have loved it more. Make sure to ask about the millwork on the ceiling. Very interesting history attached!
Had a fantastic experience stating at Castlecroft. We used Stirling as a stop off point both on our trip up to and on our journey into Scotland. We were not disappointed and really glad that we'd decided to stay again on our return trip. My partner commented that everything was exactly as you'd want it. Loved the fruit salad at b'fast (put one of the expensive hotels we stayed at to shame). Enjoyed visit to castle also. Great rooms, good parking, really friendly and relaxed host, and most amazing breakfasts.
Very accessible to town, train station and other public transportation and very close to the castle. We were able to easily get to the William Wallace memorial vis bus. Rooms were small but cozy, pretty typical in Europe and the UK anyway. Compared to some places we've stayed in Scotland, I felt like it was a pretty quiet area. Hostesses were wonderful. Breakfast was to order along with many options to make anybody happy. Would absolutely stay here again.
The hotel is very convenient to the train and bus stations. I cannot say enough good things about the staff, they were all very polite and helpful. The hotel is also a restaurant and bar which was nice, and the food is very good! The room was great, with a very comfortable bed and a big bathtub that you can soak in after trekking all day around Stirling.
Very comfortable, cosy house. Every need catered for. Lovely garden. Extremely comfy beds. Good location within easy reach of Stirling city centre and places of interest. Lots of booklets etc provided on Scotland and a comprehensive guide to Stirling and the accomodation rules. Welcome basket with breakfast essentials a really lovely touch.
Was only a last minute booking for a night out in stirling, the room wasn't massive but it was spotless and was everything we needed.
The breakfast was not up to there standard but we were up a little later.
It's a great hotel as it's right in the centre of the town, it is a very old hotel which adds to its charm.
Stirling is brilliant. The castle is worth a visit. Beautiful area of Scotland. Beds were comfy, linen and towels clean, kitchen had plenty of equipment and rooms were fairly clean and tidy. Place is OK to eat and crash, with other awake time spent out of it.
Central location. Not far from Stirling Castle. Parking was not an issue and right in front of the house. Location seemed safe. The room was clean and spacious. Bed was OK. Bathroom was ok. All in all, it was adequate for my overnight needs.
The central yet private and quiet location
The comfort and quality of the furniture
The quality of kitchen appliances/utensils etc.
The beds were especially comfy
Easy access to castle, countryside and Stirling city centre.
Fantastic location, not too far from Stirling city centre.
Friendly staff who are extremely accommodating.
The children loved the play area and seeing the horses from the Equestrian Centre.
The hotel is very nice and the staff excellent. Breakfast was lovely. Location wS very good for Thistle Centre and restaurants. However if you are going to Stirling Castle area - take a taxi.
I have stayed at the Stirling Court hotel several times. The hotel is lovely, comfortable rooms and great breakfast. The staff are so friendly. I also love all the wildlife around the hotel.
The location of the hotel is great, its right in the middle of Stirling so it makes it pretty convienient. The staff were very friendly and the hotel has a really good layout and look to it.
Very cheap and affordable. Very clean and has a very nice vibe would recommend if you are visiting the Stirling area. Not far from the city center about a 10 min drive
Stuart is a fantastic host, the Ravenswood is clean and quiet. It is walking to Stirling City Center in one direction and other shops/restaurants in the other.
