Location was perfect for what we wanted and the accommodation was clean and comfortable.
Although we didn't meet the hosts, they ensured everything was explained.
I would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet, peaceful break.

Gorgeous farmhouse B&B with friendly attentive host.
Location a little surprising, in that the distance down a somewhat isolated track had us guessing for a while if we had taken a wrong turning, but well worth the journey.
Our hosts provided us with a homemade sandwiches, and cake tea in the evening, delicious and very welcome as was the breakfast. Thank you.

Pretty village several good pubs and a really good Micropub.
Pretty village several good pubs and a really good Micropub. the amazing Cragside House only a mile and a half outside the village. N.T. over 40 miles of walks on the estate and 6 mile carriage walk which you can drive round. Queens Head served a good meal on Saturday night. Closed for meals after 6 p.m. on Sunday. Rothbury is only about 12 miles from Alnwick, an attractive market town with a castle used in Harry Potter films.

Small town with lots of quirky shops, three pubs, a wine bar and good cafe and bakeries.
Lots of interesting things to see and do mainly connected with Lord Armstrong who was an engineer and armament supplier in the Great War. The town has erected the Armstrong cross on the green in front of the church and pub in his honour
A visit to Cragside is a must!!!

Difficult to give a review as my paternal family come from Rothbury, however, its a great place to stay for a short break or to use as a centre for touring whether by bike, car or other mode of transport. Some great walks around the area and of course Cragside is a must visit place

Rothbury is quite a pleasant small town with adequate facilities. The nearby National Trust property - Cragside - is a real asset. Distances to other sites in Northumberland are generally manageable. Examples are Alnwick, Otterburn, Bamburgh, Wooller and Morpeth.
La Mensa is a lively and enjoyable Italian restaurant and The Turk's Head offers good pub food.
Very pleasant place to stay. We were on an active family holiday and needed basic accomodation for a night and it was great. We had a room with two bunkbeds and its own shower and bathroom at the end of corridor. Our dog was allowed too. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The Newcastle House is a nice pub/restaurant right in the centre of Rothbury, but when in your room you can't hear the pub at all. There was a shared TV lounge with tea/coffee, fridge and microwave and breakfast available in the morning.
I stayed in the Garden Room; a suite of bedroom, shower room and sitting room, that opened directly onto the beer garden at the rear of the hotel. Breakfast, in the main building, was a full cooked breakfast and all the staff were friendly and cheerful. Location, in the heart of Rothbury is convenient and free on-street parking was reasonably easy to get. Good beer at good prices too!
Lou and Shaun were very welcoming and have a lovely house. we loved the area and the highlight for our girls was definitely going to help feed the goats and hold the baby goats. Breakfast was delicious. our room was gorgeous, very spacious with comfortable beds. Great location to explore the Northumberland area. We’ll definitely be back!
It’s a cheap hotel and you get what you pay for.
Horrible transportation to get there. We had to go away to get a bus there.
The room was ok but it smelled.
The breakfast wasn’t too great but I believe the waitress also the cook.
Carpets and the bathroom could use a bit more cleaning.
Overall NOT a bad experience for the price.
Lou and Shaun were incredible hosts and the place was incredibly surprising - a wonderful Northumberland farm experience and the biggest B&B room we have stayed in. There is so much history to the place and a visit to Cragside is a must do to complement the Cragend farm experience. Can not rate this place or the hosts highly enough.
The Hideaway was a perfect space to relax and get comfortable after long days exploring the area, with great modern comforts, styling and amenities. Close to Rothbury centre for easy access to pubs, restaurants, and takeaways but just far enough away to have a peaceful and relaxing night as well. Will definitely be visiting again.
Our room was very spacious and newly decorated, the bedroom and the bathroom were very clean, with lovely towels.
The two young people who were working in the hotel and restaurant were both very competent, friendly and hard working, a credit to the hotel both of them.
Beautiful apartment which was exceptionally well equipped. Very clean and spacious. Great location in the heart of the village. Rothbury is well serviced with bakeries., delis and convenience stores. Would recommend to anyone wanting to visit the area.
The facilities and the whole apartment were fantastic. It was a great location for visiting Cragside and the coast and Rothbury itself is a lovely village. We were very comfortable and really enjoyed our visit to Northumberland.
Great location and great staff. Short walk to town centre but makes the hotel very peaceful. The bar and outside area are great for a quiet drink in the sun. The rooms were good and great old building with great features.
Absolutely beautiful location
Owners are very nice and very helpful with a good breakfast choice
(Craster kippers I recommend)
Very quiet location
Lovely part of Northumberland
Good WiFi within the property
This site of mainly privately owned homes is fairly small but absolutely immaculate, I have never seen a better maintained site.
Rothbury is a very attractive large village/small town with good facilities.
We really enjoyed the stay and the beautiful village of Rothbury. Locals were very friendly. The weather was stunning. Easily the best and cheapest escape into the wilderness.
beautiful, historical hotel with immaculate hostel rooms. downstairs pub and dining area, plus upstairs tv room/seating area for guests. just a gorgeous building !
