Lovely cottage, made to feel very much at home. Offered tea and cake on arrival Lovely breakfast
United KingdomRose Cottage was fantastic for our short vacation, it exceeding our expectations in pretty much every way. The owner (Emma) was very welcoming and answered our every need. The breakfasts are beautiful and plentiful, the evening meal was better than restaurant quality in my opinion and moderately priced. Located close to historic and beautiful market towns and is in an accessible area to reach the greater Lake District which we visited often. The bed was comfortable and the adjoining bathroom was easy to use and stocked for all of our needs. Overall very happy with our visit.
United KingdomLoved all of the little homely touches from tea and cake in the Orchard on arrival to fresh milk for an early morning brew and home made breads and jams to accompany our delicious breakfast. Location great, nr to a pub serving great food
United KingdomLovely welcome, clean comfortable room with lovely outlook, faultless.
United KingdomAbsolutely wonderful stay at the Rose Cottage. Emma was a delight. She was very informative and attentive to all of our needs, going above and beyond. She prepared an exceptional breakfast for us in the morning. The location was excellent with stunning views and a short drive away to many places worth exploring in the area.
United KingdomCosy place with nice open views from the room and lovely garden. Quiet village location. Friendly hostess who welcomed us with tea and cake in the sitting room. Particularly good breakfast.
United KingdomWhat a wonderful stay. Breakfast was delicious, in nice cozy room. Beautiful view of surrounding countryside. We were greeted with tea and cake which was lovely. Host went out of her way to recommend surrounding hikes and local restaurants. Lovely garden to walk around in.
United KingdomEverything. Emma is amazing and very friendly. We were met with tea and cakes in the lovely garden and the choices for breakfast were vast. We will be doing our best to go again.
United KingdomQuiet, charming and peaceful, beautiful views, incredibly friendly and attentive owner, lovely breakfast and excellent local pub.

My comfy bedrooms have all been decorated with your comfort in mind. Homely and cosy I want you to enjoy a good night's sleep! As our local pubs are currently closed I will also be offering evening meals. Please let me know when you book and I can arrange a menu. (Please feel free to BYOB!) Breakfasts: homemade with local ingredients (and delicious - if I do say so myself). Tea: There's always tea & cake on offer for your arrival. Enjoy it in the cosy drawing room or the garden. Garden: Enjoy a cup of tea in the garden on a fine evening Picnics: We can happily make a picnic to enjoy on a walk, or as you explore the near by Lake District (there's a small extra cost). WiFi: We have high speed broadband throughout the cottage Location: We're a stones throw from the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. Explore the stunning area from our doorstep
I'm Emma, a chef by training I opened my home to guests when I retired from running the local pub. I still turn my hand to cooking, and make the bread you'll enjoy for breakfast. My home is cosy and comfortable and I want you to feel right at home. The fires are lit in the Winter months, and in the Summer my garden is full of flowers (and I grow my own vegetables).
THINGS TO DO Local Pubs: Our fantastic local pub The Lunesdale Arms is a stroll away, or there are delicious restaurants in Kirkby Lonsdale History: The Bronte Sisters, lost works of art... we have it all in Tunstall! Gardens: With Lancashire rain come some stunning gardens to explore Walking: We couldn't be better placed to explore the Lakes & Dales on foot. Lots lots more Horse riding, adventures, or just relaxing...
