There really aren’t enough words to express how outstanding this property is. Photos do not do the location or house justice. Additionally, the food, whisky, and service are outstanding. We were lucky to get a reservation in the first place, and luckier still to be able to be rebooked when our travel was derailed. If you are thinking about it, give yourself the pleasure of staying here.

Fabulous! We knew the property had received great reviews but we were blown away by this place! Our stay definitely exceeded our expectations. Jennie (we didn’t meet Joe) couldn’t have done enough for us. Breakfast was great & the lobster dinner was to die for! The setting is lovely, the rooms well appointed, clean, and quiet! What an incredible find. We’re so very happy we stayed at Tarrel Farmhouse and can’t wait to return!

I stayed in the small separate cottage right next door. That’s the cats pajamas. Was my local back in the eighties ..felt good to be back. My compliments to the chef for that spicy salmon dish.

The staff were warm and welcoming.
The food was delicious and the breakfast wow full Scottish was done to perfection.
The room was very smart and spacious, with a comfortable bed.

Everything about this property was incredible. It’s proximity to the ocean, clean and restful stay.Friendly and helpful staff
Very quiet place. The hotel is still open not shut like many others else-where. Balintore is good for a walk-about with rocky and sandy beaches. Big harbour with excellent traditional, spit on the floor (almost) pub. Fossils can be found on the rocks. Small supermarket with most provisions and a modern village hall with coffee/small food served. Great place to visit and not far from Distilleries and a good base to visit the North of Scotland etc.

Balintore is on of three seaboard villages which over the...
Balintore is on of three seaboard villages which over the years have joined together so that you can barely see the borders between them.
The beach is beautiful and clean and is not at all crowded even on the sunniest of days.
You can go for walks and there are lots of historical sites in the area.
45 minutes drive to the south is the beautiful city of Inverness and the Caledonian Canal and there are lots of golf courses in the area if that's youre thing.
Really I could go on and on so you wont be short of things to do.
