The location was excellent. It was close to the pier and restaurants. I loved having the window open at night and hearing the waves. The room was on the small side as to be expected in this type of hotel but you really can't ask for a better place to stay. It was comfy and clean. Eddy was a great host. I highly recommend and will stay again should I be in the area.

Overlooking the beach and within easy walking distance of the town center and pier, this AA 4-star character property has been welcoming guests to Eastbourne for over 170 years. One of Eastbourne’s original old ‘sea houses’, the dog-friendly Royal has recently undergone a complete renovation to provide comfortable, modern accommodations with free Wi-Fi throughout and flat-screen TVs. The building’s original features have been retained. Bathrooms feature heated towel rails, shaver points, fluffy white towels and complimentary Duck Island toiletries. Start each day with a healthy, fresh breakfast in the airy breakfast room. Choose from real ground coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, a selection of organic yogurts, cereals, homemade breads and jams. No English breakfasts are served. Soy milk is available.
