“Staff were smart, efficient, friendly and very helpful - which was highly appreciated when it came to getting our suitcase up the impressive stairs! We were fortunate enough to be given an upgraded room, which was blessed with a lovely view over the front garden and into the distance. Obviously, in recent times cleanliness has taken on a different level of importance and this was met spot on, to the point of a seal on the door to inform of room cleanliness. Bed, linen, bathroom and general appearance of the room - all immaculate. Dinner - first rate. Service excellent, food delicious with just the right amount of choice. Breakfast - plentiful, hot choices served hot! Again, lovely service. Covid restrictions were met without fuss and everyone ate in a relaxed and charming surrounding. We are experienced travellers and frequently B&B. We plan to return to Scotland and wouldn't hesitate to revisit the Royal Marine on our route.”

“Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. There was an issue with the heating in my mother's room but a member of the staff came to check on my mother and provide her with a portable heater for the evening. The dining areas were lovely. I did feel that perhaps another option on the main menu would have been of benefit , especially for an older generation. My mother had to have fish and chips both nights as she could not take other options.”
