Rural getaway in the quiet friendly village of Rumford. It’s located 3 miles from Padstow, and no more than 15 minutes from our beautiful 7 bays. A self build completed in 2019, situated amongst family and friends. A perfect couples retreat, with local walks on your doorstep. Close to the Newquay coastline, which offers more fabulous beaches, and a vibrant Town and nightlife. Rumford is central to the County, it’s ideal as a base to explore all of Cornwall, from Port Issac to Penzance.

I’m Tom, love all sport! Mainly football, cricket and rugby. Play for local cricket team in the summer. Ive worked as a joiner for over ten years and use the skills from the work to make things, such as the house we now live in. Always up for a good time but love being back in the village away from everything. Brought up on a Farm and now live in the Village where the majority of my family are from. My partner Zoe is a Padstow girl and enjoys going to their local events. She’s worked in holiday accommodation for years and loves being around our new home keeping it presentable. Shopping can take up a lot of her free time! We both like sampling local restaurants and pubs. We welcome all guests. Although the two doors in your section that adjoin to our part of the house are locked and soundproofed, it doesn’t mean we don’t want to meet you. The garage in the Carpark belongs to us, so if you see it open it will be one of us. Please feel free to come around to our side of the house and meet us or ask for any local advise. Alternatively we won’t be offended if you just want your own peace and we don’t cross paths. ☺️

Rumford has a rural feel to it, with the surrounds being farm land, you will expect to see some tractors and animals dotted around on your strolls. You won’t be seeing things if you process a goat being walked around the village, as Toms mum keeps them! She is always moving them to grassy paddocks to graze. The cottages and houses around are kept smartly presented with gardens and wildlife taking a fancy to the area. Coming away after a busy day or night around the local sites is the best thing about this choice of stay. It really is a quiet place to relax and unwind. We hope you like it as much as we do. Rumford is placed no more than a 10 minute drive from many popular spots, such as Padstow, St Merryn, Harlyn, Trevone and Mawgan Porth, they are all painlessly easy to travel to. We will provide local taxi firms to use in the guestbook. Cycling to the nearby towns is certainly possible, the village tends to have a lot of cyclists passing through. There is many country walks on our doorstep to explore.
