Lovely gem of a place. 10 mins walking distance from Eccleshall road (full of bars, cafes and restaurants). 5 mins walk from botanical gardens. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The place full of original charm incorporating modern facilities. The breakfast was lovely in the conservatory overlooking the garden. I can highly recommend.

My partner and I had a nice stay here over the weekend. The receptionist Nicky was very kind and helpful when checking in. Parking was not a problem at all and we used the hotel's car park and street parking right outside. We had an executive double room, which was nice and cosy but still felt spacious with the sofa and sitting area. The bathroom was nice as well, hot water and good water pressure in the shower. The bed and pillows were comfortable as well, which made for a good nights sleep. We opted for a full English breakfast on Sunday morning which was delicious with prompt service also. The hotel has good Covid-19 precautions in place including a mask requirement, hand gel at the door, track and trace code, a one way system throughout and spread out tables in the breakfast area, which made us feel safe the whole time we were there. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would come back next time we are in Sheff. Thank you Rutland Hotel!

  • How far to walk to Sheffield children hospital? My daughter has to be there for 7am just wondered if I could get any breakfast before we leave?

    Thank you for your message. Sheffield Childrens Hospital is around 15-20 minutes walk from the hotel. We can arrange a 'Grab & Go' breakfast for you which consists of a yoghurt, fruit juice, muffin and a bottle of water. It costs £3.95 each.

  • I know it says you are 5 mins from Royal Hallamshire hospital but I am going there for breathing problems. Do I need a taxi?

    Hello. The hospital is a 5 minute walk from us and it is all down hill. We can happily book you a taxi if you prefer though. Please let us know when you arrive.

  • Thank you for replying, but as said we are disabled & do not have any photo ID at all anymore, thus it is sadly discrimination, we understand security etc, but there are around 10 million people in the UK who do not have passports etc, do you accept anything else? Bank cards, letters etc?
