Hi there, my name is Neil Kirby and i am the General Manager of the Savoy in Skegness. I have worked within the hotel industry for over 20 years, starting off as a waiter during summer holidays whilst at school and university. Having enjoyed my time as a waiter so much, i decided that after i finished my Geography degree at university i would pursue a career in hotels full time and within 5 years i was given my first management role. My family are from the Skegness area and when the opportunity at the Savoy came along 15 years ago i could not wait to get started. During my time at the Savoy the property has been totally refurbished and now offers a modern style with a very high standard of decoration and service levels to match the impressive surroundings. I have met some wonderful people who i consider to be more than just guests who stay at the Savoy. I have seen a large increase in the amount of visitors to Skegness, which as a massive supporter of the town, is great to witness. I love living by the sea and enjoy walking along the beach. In my spare time i enjoy a round of golf and spending time with my family.
Skegness is one of England's most popular seaside resorts, since victorian times tourists have been coming to enjoy the excellent beach and resort attractions. The blue flag award winning beach is the most famous of all Skegness attractions and is enjoyed by many thousands of people every year. There is also Botton's Pleasure Beach, where you can ride on the rollercoaster, waltzer, pirate ship or play "hook a duck", all part of having fun at the fair. Take a walk along the Pier or spend time in the many amusement arcades there are along the Skegness Promenade. Play a round of Crazy Golf or test your skills at Tenpin bowling. Visit Natureland and enjoy learning about the many animals they have and the wonderful work they do with the marine life around our shores. Walk around our newest attraction, Skegness Aquarium, and see the many species of fish in their tanks, maybe even have a dive yourself. The Embassy Theatre has been providing entertainment for many years, from West End shows to Celebrity Performers and Tribute Acts, you will always have a great time. Shop till you drop, enjoy some fish & chips or an ice cream. Come along & have a wonderful time in Skegness.
