NetherlandsDes and Heather are brilliant hosts who really look after you. Breakfast was spot on with plenty of choice and it set us up for the day. Our room was very comfortable with lovely views across to the cliff tops. The guest house is located in a very quiet area only a two minute walk to the local pub which had a selection of real ales and a great menu. Robin Hoods Bay was a comfortable 15 minute walk away and there are some nice country walks in the immediate vicinity. Little Beck is well worth a visit, no more than 15 minutes drive away and Whitby is a good day out and again only a short drive away. Highly recommended

United KingdomThe Saxon Villa is a brilliant place to stay and Des and Heather are great hosts. The Bed and Breakfast is in a great location, just a short pleasant 10 minute walk from the main village. The room we had, had a lovely view of the countryside (and cows!) And was really spacious and very clean. The breakfasts are amazing, with a choice of fresh fruit, yogurt and cereal everyday and then you can pre order your cooked breakfasts the night before (highly recommend the poached eggs!). The garden is beautiful and looks out onto the bay and you can sit in it in the evening. All in all we had a brilliant holiday and it made for an excellent base to explore the Yorkshire Coast. Thank you!

In the heart of the North York Moors National Park, the Saxon Villa Bed and Breakfast offers accommodations with countryside views.
The property provides guests with a base for both hiking and seaside days out. The Cinder Track and Cleveland Way are minutes from the house. A 10-minute walk from historic Robin Hood’s Bay and a 10-minute drive from popular Whitby, Saxon Villa has free parking on site.
Each of the spacious rooms has a private bathroom with shower and guests can enjoy the communal garden surrounded by fields and with far-reaching views down to the coast.
The building has individually decorated rooms successfully combining modern design with traditional Victorian features. Rooms come with a refreshments tray, LCD TV and free Wi-Fi.
Full English breakfasts as well as lighter options are sourced locally when possible. The town of Scarborough is 30 minutes away by car, and there are many local pubs for relaxed evenings around the village.

Saxon Villa is the perfect base for a short get away or longer stays. You can be in Whitby in 10 or Scarborough in 25 minutes. We are an easy walk to upper (1/2 mile) and lower bays and are 200 yards from the Fylingdales Inn. Within 10 minutes you can be at the bottom of the Bay. We are also a five minute stroll from the Cleveland Way and Cycle Path.
