This cottage is finished to an exceptional standard. There is gorgeous local artwork on every wall, lovely decor, friendly hosts and amidst rolling hills. It's perfect for a peaceful getaway. My son loved the local walks and my dog was very happy to be around so many sheep - sheep maybe not so happy. Brilliant place! I'd thoroughly recommend!

The location was great for doing day trips to different places, it was peaceful and scenic. The accommodation had everything we needed so we were happy and comfortable spending time in the cottage after a full day out.

Barry and Kathleen (hosts) were very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The cottage was dog friendly (there wasn't much which our new puppy was tempted to chew). The whole place had a very homely feel.

Located on the west side of Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, Shegarton Farm Cottages are a courtyard barn conversion within an original farm steading. Free on-site parking is available, and many scenic walks can be taken in the surrounding area.

Each Shegarton cottage features a kitchen with full-size cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer. A TV with DVD player, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities are also provided. Views over the surrounding hills and fields can be seen from each cottage.

A Sealife center and large shopping mall can be found in Balloch, which is a 15-minute drive away. Boats can also be hired and taken along Loch Lomond. A wide variety of land and water activities are available within the national park, such as horse riding, climbing and water skiing.

Couples in particular like the location – they rated it 9.5 for a two-person trip.

  • hi do you have an apartment that would be suitable for an elderly person, she would need a walk in shower and no steep steps?

    Good morning Fruin Cottage has a small step in to the shower and two steps at the front front door. Parking is about 10 steps from the front door. Please get back to me if you have any other questions, take care Kathleen
