The key was in the door and let ourselves in. Lovely remote safe setting. Kay popped to see us shortly after to make sure we where Ok and if we needed anything.
United Kingdomthis wasa trip to see family and also my parents are buried locally being aware of the area, what can I say the views are first class peacefull though this is a working farm and the host Kay keeps this cottage spotless. Off the beaten track but easy access and also excellent for Loch lomond and surounding areas with Glasgow and Edinburgh within easy distance. Balloch the local town nearby hasa designer shopping outlet and also a coop for shopping. I think Kay has no problem in getting customers to this property because of the location near Luss but also that she is an excellent host with no problems in sorting anything out if requiredI think if customers see the views from this property they will be literally astonishes as this isa nice part of the Loch Lomond area and can I say thanks to Kay for this opportunity in staying at her cottage thankyou tom vicky and valerie
United KingdomWe loved the position of the cottage; so peaceful. A delight to be there.
United KingdomThe cottage is in a lovely location and is cosy and comfortable. Hosts are friendly and welcoming and available to help with any queries. Our children loved our time there and we would love to return one day.
United KingdomThe views, the tranquility, the friendly knowledgeable hosts.
United KingdomFans of The High Road will recognise parts of the farm as Maggie's Croft and from This Farming Life, which featured the Lennox clan in its first ever series. Its no accident that people want to film here, it is stunning. Kay couldn't have made us more welcome. The most breathtaking scenery and cosy, character full cottage added up to the perfect retreat to unwind and recharge. Highly recommend the hike up to the reservoir just above Shemore Cottage, where we were treated to the reflection of autumn's golds, russets and ambers with a background chorus of stags bellowing from the mountains above. Love that we were able to have an open fire to digest the days adventures by. We peeked a look in at the Bonnie Barns, such high spec and the views from those hot tubs will be tough to beat! We are planning our next trip and can't wait to get back there.
United KingdomIt was super clean and in a beautiful location. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Great facilities - everything we could possibly need.
United KingdomExcellent property, perfect spot for nearby Loch Lomond, hiking in nearby munros, as well as Glasgow, Sterling. Feels remote, yet very close to the shores of Loch Lomond. If you want to be awoken by sheep, eat breakfast watching hares outside your window, then you must come! Fantastic owners, very friendly and hospitable, living in the nearby house. Property was clean, fully equipped, comfy beds, bathroom had a heated floor. Would recommend to anyone!
United KingdomWonderful location in farm setting surrounded by sheep in the field. Kay was a friendly and responsive host with lots of helpful suggestions. The farm shop nearby is excellent and nearby Luss is picturesque little village with A smokehouse shop et

This cottage was built in the mid 1800's for a Shepard and his family to live while they worked on our farm. It was changed over to self catering in the mid 1970's by my grand mother, then my mother and now I run the cottage.
I have lived most of my days here at the farms. I had a very happy childhood playing in the fields, trees and burn. I now get to enjoy watching my 2 children experience the adventures that i had with my siblings. I also run a cleaning company called Lomond Lass and continue to work with weekly clients. I work with my parent on the farm, doing what ever is required, from lambing, gathering (walking in the sheep from the hills), sheering and dipping the sheep. Sometimes it's as easy as "stand in front of that gap to stop the sheep from running the wrong way". I love to sail, I sailed with my twin brother for a few years with Team GB and my parents drove us around the UK and Europe to make it to all the important events. I became a Principal teacher at our local club Helensburgh Sailing Club and coached children and adults how to sail. Now that my kids are getting older I am hoping to get back into the sailing again soon.
You will be surrounded by Scottish hills, our livestock and wildlife. We have a beautiful reservoir at the back of the farm which is a lovely 20 min walk up our Glen. Once you step out to your garden you will have a stunning outlook to the south end of Loch Lomond looking towards Balloch. And just a short walk down our road you will be met with the panoramic views which will unfolds before you. You will struggle to find another view like it! There is a farm shop just a couple miles down the road called Auchentullich Farm Shop, where you can get yourself "a wee broon bag" full of tasty Scottish foods, which can include cheese, bread, biscuits, venison, beef, vegetables, milks and of course whisky! Luss is the nearest village at 4 miles (north). Its a beautiful village which is a prime tourism attraction. You can get a boat trip around the Loch from the pier or slipway. You can also get a ferry across to the east side of the Loch. Luss has lovely selection of places to eat, have coffee and teas or just a quick bite at the snack bar. A car is essential for staying with us.
