We’ve stayed twice before and love this inn. Fabulous views and walks on the doorstep, cosy log fire in the bar (our preferred dining spot) and a delicious belly pork roast followed by home made crumble. Staff are friendly and our waiter recommended local Ladybower Reservoir walk which we did next day *****. . Room was spotless and comfortable .Hope to return soon.

Grindleford is a lovely place. There are some nice walks hereabouts and the railway station (Grindleford) is across the road - and down the drive - with links to Hathersage, Hope and Edale in one direction and to Sheffield in the other.

It is a good location for exploring north Derbyshire but a car is essential to get to interesting locations quickly.
The actual village of Grindleford only consists of a few houses along the main road.
Our hiking days are in the past so we restricted ourselves to Buxton,, Bakewell, Chatsworth and the villages from Hathesage along to Castleton and also Eyam.
Try to choose a long hot, dry summer for this hilly area!

Lovely hotel with friendly staff and excellent choice of breakfast. Bedroom smaller than anticipated and would not book this size again. Roman blind would not go up and staff removed string when reported which we were unaware of until we tried to pull it up the following day. Dirty cushion on bed replaced when we reported. However, overall, we would be happy to recommend hotel.

We liked the management of the booking, the quality and qualities of the staff (friendliness, enthusiasm, positivity, professionalism, courtesy). The room was supreme, with a lovely view over Grindleford and beyond, and the breakfast tasted as wonderful as any breakfast I've ever had. Someone has done a superb job of re-launching this excellent Peak District destination. Thank you so much one and all for a lovely stay.
Graham was excellent, so friendly and welcoming. Great location, free parking, hotel was very clean, lovely views from the garden and the back of the hotel. The bedrooms and bathroom was very clean and shower was nice. On our first night we ate at the restaurant, food was excellent.
Overnight stay for our anniversary. We stayed in the Don Bradman suite, beautiful and spacious with a very large bed!
Hotel was clean and welcoming, staff were fantastic and the food delicious.
Nice location with outside terrace and good views.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Stunning hotel in a beautifully picturesque setting. We were upgraded to the largest suite with a huge bed and roll top bath. The food is of a very high standard yet very reasonably priced. We would definitely recommend and hopefully get the chance to stay again.
Had a wonderful stay ,my son & partner have booked for there wedding August 2024 and we came to stay & view the hotel. Very impressed the hotel grounds are lovely rooms & staff excellent and the food was delicious credit to the chef we had a lovely stay
The hotel and surrounding area was beautiful. The room was spacious and comfortable. The restaurant downstairs offered excellent food and drink options. The breakfast that was included was delicious. They staff members were helpful and very courteous.
Breakfast was lovely and adapted the menu for my taste. Plenty and good quality. Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us and made the dog very welcome. Times of breakfast was not too early and went on for a good length of time.
Such a welcoming stay in a totally different hotel to what I'm used to. Heritage of the place a major feature. Sir William, in his suit of armour overlooking breakfast was the main feature! Staff very welcoming and helpful. Good parking.
Beautiful and well maintained property in the gorgeous surroundings. We have enjoyed our spacious and fully equipped room with comfy bed. Pleasure to stay in.
Hotel and bar staff were doing their best to keep guests happy.
The atmosphere throughout the hotel is magical. So comfortable, cosy, stylish, and well lit. Nice touches like bottled water were appreciated. The food was terrific quality. A great base for a trip to the Peak District.
