From the moment we drove up the driveway and were greeted by Thomas to the last beautiful breakfast, our stay was exceptional. The facility was spotless and the room was large with incredible details, providing incredible comfort during our stay. Thomas was extremely helpful on so many levels, making dinner reservations and recommending beautiful walks and rides. we felt like guests in someone’s manor but at the same time, we were provided with the privacy of a hotel. it may have been one of the fi eat stay we had in Scotland. Thank you and we will be back

The host was absolutely amazing, Thomas made my stay as comfortable as he could. He even lit a fire for me the last night I was there in the common room. It did not hurt the rest of the rooms were empty during my short stay. I can not recommend this place enough, and it has 99% to do with Thomas.

The thing we liked best was our warm, funny, and engaging Host, Thomas. The house and grounds are wonderful and the morning breakfasts were served graciously and were delicious. The best (and only) Black Pudding I have ever had! Cheers!

The breakfast was quite tasty. It was great to have real fresh fruit as well. Skerrols House also had a comfy 'living room' where guests could relax and enjoy a drink or a dram of whisky they had purchased on Islay. The hosts were super friendly too.

The location turned out better than I thought. The property was immaculate, the bedroom room and bathroom were larger than expected, the bed was extremely comfortable. The host was very engaging or invisible, whichever you want. Only regret is not being able to stay longer.

I’ve been staying in UK B&Bs for over 20 years and this one is, by far, the best B&B I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying at. Thomas is an absolute gem and makes sure that every aspect of the stay is utterly superb. I will never stay anywhere else when on Islay! 10/10 for sure!

Within 15 minutes’ drive of 4 of the Isle of Islay’s whiskey distilleries, Skerrols House has uninterrupted countryside views and is just a 5-minute drive from the coastal village of Bridgend. Located in the center of the island, Bowmore Distillery is less than a 10-minute drive away.

Skerrols can arrange tours of the island and the whiskey distilleries. There is a boot room for guests to keep their wet coats and muddy shoes and a lounge with a log fire.

Walkers can enjoy a choice of scenic routes nearby, and the Machrie Golf Course is 15 minutes’ drive away. The ferry terminal at Port Askaig and Islay Airport, which has flights to Glasgow Airport, are both 15 minutes’ drive from this guest accommodations.

  • Hi we have had our ferry cancelled abs are looking for two rooms. Is there any chance you may allow 3 well behaved/ small dogs - to stay?
