Martin and Sarah
Slades Farm was built in 1795. Since then it has been farmed by four generations of families in the pretty village of Edington. Sitting on the edge of Salisbury Plain it is surrounded by beautiful country views. The house has been refurbished to give guests a relaxing stay. The garden frames the house and has it's own duck pond the guests are able to sit and walk around the garden. All of the rooms are light and spacious and recently decorated. All rooms have tea and coffee and fresh milk and bottled water are always offered. We only use fresh local ingredients for our large breakfast menu, and offer a wide selection of both traditional English and continental style breakfast. We also have a vegan /vegetarian options. We are very close to the Longleat House and Safari Park. Close to the cities of Bath and Salisbury and a short drive from the World Heritage site of Stonehenge ,here you can combine culture and the countryside! Many National Trust properties and gardens are close to us including Lacock Abbey, Stourhead, Avebury and The Larmer Tree Garden
We are currently diversifying the family farm, part of that is the refurbishment of Slades Farm House as a Bed and Breakfast We love having guests to stay with us. Please let us know ahead of your visit why you are coming to stay and how we can help to make your stay as memorable as possible.
Edington is a pretty Wiltshire village. Its close to lots of famous tourist attractions and local towns .The village has the famous Edington Priory built in 1312. The house is on the edge of open countryside so no traffic noise and lovely views. Its a great place for a relaxing break and just enjoying the peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It has a magnificent Inn and Farm Shop open daily, The Three Daggers Inn which recently won the AA Pub of the year award. You can walk to the Inn and farm shop which takes about 5 minutes. The village has many easy footpaths to explore. Nearby on the edge of Salisbury Plain are lovely woodland walks and every season changes the open landscape of the Plain. It has many unique and interesting botanical species as well as wildlife. Longleat House and Grounds are just 7 miles away. Bath is a short drive. There is also a mainline station (Westbury) which gives easy access to the south west. The famous Westbury White Horse carved into the hillside is well worth a visit. You can walk from here if you are feeling energetic. Dauntsey School is just four miles from us so convenient for visiting family
