Been before so took parents to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary. They hadn't been before 9 of us altogether. we had also booked an evening meal. Can honestly say the food was outstanding.Beautiful dining room with real silver ,felt like Downton Abby. So much to see and thought gone into every detail for this period. Garden also beautiful with chickens down the bottom and a small kind of church which was really interesting. As usual we were greeted warmly and made to feel at home nothing was a problem!! Highly Recommend !! and will go back again. Thank you The March Family x

Seeing what it was like living in a Victorian house. The hosts have paid such attention to detail and the house is beautifully kept. Very unusual. Not my person style but worth coming to Hastings just for the experience of staying here. Tea in the rooms was a nice touch. Breakfast was divine.

The proprietors, Paul and Stephen, are wonderful hosts: solicitous, friendly and non-intrusive. They have turned their establishment into a minor miracle of an ecclesiastical museum. St. Benedict's is filled with specimens of ecclesiastical artifacts. Additionally, the location is ideal for sightseeing, approximately a delightful 10 minute walk to the center of St. Leonard's and to the train station.

Had a wonderful (but short!) stay at the most beautiful B&B. So charming!

Quirkiness. Tea and cake on arrival. Beautiful garden.

Tea and homemade cake was a kind touch on our arrival. Lovely breakfast- large choice and well presented, with great Victorian touches, including vintage cutlery, toast warmer and surrounded by exquisite furniture and interior decor. The garden was a treat to wander around.

Looks like it’s the sort of place Sherlock Holmes lives haha. It’s now spoiled us. Nowhere else will match this place. When you go and stay on coast in the UK this is the sort of place you’d expect. Almost felt wrong going in with modern clothing. Maybe should have dressed up. Anyway, just go yourself. This will definitely be my go to from now on when I want to stay on the coast.

Great location, very quiet, view onto beautiful garden, exceptional interior, very clean, wonderful full English breakfast incl. fresh and tasty fruit salad. An unexpected and hugely charming experience provided by the hosts Paul and Stephen.

Like staying in a work of art. The care and love put into St Benedicts is pretty incredible. We were very well looked after and breakfast was deliciousm

The St Benedict is an exceptional B and B. The place is so amazing, filled with amazing things to look at. But it also is comfortable, clean, and the owners were so helpful and welcoming. we will be back.

We have carefully restored the house to its original 1880s layout and use, using entirely period wallpapers, decorative objects d'art and antique furniture, down to the smallest detail, including bathrooms. All rooms are furnished in high Victorian style, and the house has the feel of a living museum. There are also servant's quarters with pantry scullery and kitchen with a service lift and a speaking tube to the dining room.
Stephen and Paul have spent 20 years returning the house to its original configuration, decorating it and filling it with period objects. Great care has been taken over the artistic style of each room, so that guests can enjoy a unique experience of stepping back in time.
St.Leonards was established in the Regency period as a purpose built seaside resort, and was expanded in the 1880s when St.Benedict was built. It is now both a holiday resort and a centre for artists, with a growing number of galleries and vintage/antique shops. The gracious architecture of the area is an attraction, as is the proximity to the English Channel.
