The room was good, the pool was out of commission which spoiled the weekend because that made the jacuzzi impossible to gain entrance to due to the amount of people being let down on the pool. Food was perfect.

There is a lot to like about Newport and the surrounding countryside. My favourite feature is without doubt the famous 'Transporter Bridge'. You have the choice of numerous venues for both Rugby and Football matches and a great selection of local Parkruns.

There are many places to eat in Newport, there is also lots of shops and local bars with live music. It is close to Newport football stadium. It also has a little castle near the train station.
The new Newport market is a great addition to Newport, it had lots of small shops and a variety of different restaurants which you can order on the app and get it served to your table.

I felt sorry for Newport, the town centre has become tatty and there are many empty shop units. I stayed in autumn in a rainy time - and it may have been better looking in good weather. Big problem is poor signage to and from the railway station and bus station. Much of the town is tucked under the motorway, and its difficult to get around on foot. There are few pedestrian crossings and outside of the town centre pavement walkways stop suddenly without notice, I saw many people trudging through muddy grass verges and jay walking across busy dual carriageways. Bus services are good, and once I had found the bus station I stuck to getting around this way as much as I could.
This is a great family run hotel. Rooms are clean, with TV and tea and coffee making facilities. On arrival the young lady on reception was welcoming, cheerful and chatty. The staff are excellent and made us feel so welcome. After our day out we spent the evening in the hotel bar with the owner and met some of his family which was lovely and we felt we were welcomed with open arms. I will definitely be returning to this hotel the next time I am in Newport. Thank you all :-)
Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. This hotel has a great onsite restaurant, delicious food . It also has a good choice of bar food as well as a great selection of hot and cold food for breakfast.
Nice facilities, and the added extra is you also get to use the facilities in the Celtic Manor
Nice outside space next to the bar area.
Lovely shower and wardrobe space. Room was big with plenty of storage..
The hotel was positioned well for good road links to get around .
Location perfect for the town (3 mins walk), Roman sites and museum (10 mins walk), and a bus-stop outside the hotel to get to/from Newport. (Although, taxis also easy to get.) The property has recently been refurbished. A bit odd having the wash-basin and shower cubicle in the room rather than ensuite, but not a problem. Friendly staff. Breakfast choice is cereal and full English, or cereal and full English - which suited me, but some might find the choice limited.
Excellent breakfast, superb staff, interesting building with sympathetic renovation. Will be going back as soon as we can and taking our family. We were given the WiFi code when we checked in, the hotel is in a great location with a cycle/walking route that goes to Newport. Two museums within walking distance and a historic walk around the village. Lovely outside seating area with well kept gardens
The building was lovely, the staff were attentive and kind, and the food was all so delicious! My husband and I were offered a dinner reservation upon check in and I'm so glad we ate at the restaurant in the hotel. It had a unique concept that was such a delicious meal for two jet-lagged Americans. Breakfast was just as tasty as dinner and the staff were all so friendly.
We stayed for a six nations match and for the price it was fantastic. The train station is around 60 meters away with a regular service to the Cardiff. Staff were very helpful when we wanted to drop bags off early. I was surprised at how quiet the room was. I'd stay at the hotel again for a six nations match.
Absolutely lovely hotel located right in the centre of Newport city centre. The hotel staff was so helpful and welcoming. The room was beautiful has everything you need from some toiletries to an iron and ironing board. I felt like it was reasonably priced. Will definitely be visiting again.
The Coldra Court Hotel is easy to find with ample parking. The facilities in the hotel are excellent. We went during Christmas period and the staff had made the whole hotel a festive joy . The staff are polite, friendly and are very welcoming.
Location, staff are very friendly. Comfortable beds with a nice shower. We were in room 12,sleeps 3 and was a pleasant room. It's a reasonable price. If we come to Newport again which is unlikely, we would stay here.
The hotel itself was great- room was basic but clean and comfortable. Lady on reception was very helpful by partnering us with someone to share taxi with to Newport Station and sorted out our transport.
The hotel is centrally located, within two or three minutes walking distance of Newport train station. My room was warm, and the bed very comfortable,
The staff could not have been more helpful.
It was a 1 night, midweek business trip to South Wales. The Gateway hotel was fine. Car parking was a a little cramped but I managed to find a space. Good, no frills, value for money.
Another wonderful stay at Parkway Hotel. Staff very friendly and accomadating, especially Mel on reception. So glad they still serve their custard slices.... exceptional
My name is mark ..i was looked after by Mo in the reception and been awesome stay at silurian hotel newport experience .i would like to book again next week.
There are laundry facilities, but you have to use an app. The cheapest accommodation in Newport. The bed is not that good but they tried putting a topper.
