Strawberry Cottage is a family run B&B in the garden of a Tudor farmhouse dating back to 1547. It is so called because it was once an agricultural building on strawberry fields. All the rooms are named after old strawberry varieties once grown on Shamblehurst Farm. The B&B is reached through a cottage garden that is full of colour in the spring and summer months. Each room is individually decorated and has an en suite bathroom. Tea and coffee facilities are provided as well as free WiFi. There is a lounge for guests' use which makes it ideal for families or groups. We have a small, mixed flock of chickens which diligently provides breakfast eggs every morning. Jams and marmalades are made in house and much of the fruit for the jams comes from the garden surrounding Strawberry Cottage. Convenient pub restaurant nearby.
Strawberry Cottage is five minutes from Hedge End Railway station and is very well situated for the following: Southampton Airport Port of Southampton Port of Portsmouth Southampton Boat Show Ageas Bowl (International Cricket) Historic Winchester Paulton's Park and Pepper Pig Marwell Zoo Wessex Vale Botleigh Grange Portsmouth Historic Dockyard The New Forest is within easy reach
