Came with my son and daughter to attend Latitude festival. Lovely cottage and ideal for our purpose. Really appreciated the little things like the tea, coffee and sugar and bottle of wine. Great for visiting Aldeburgh, Thorpeness etc. Neighbours very friendly too. Hope you like the Lavender soap we left for you. Made by hand by my daughter from her own Lavender field.

Lavender Cottage is a newly renovated 2-bed bolthole, minutes from Aldeburgh & Thorpeness coast. It is a charming new-to-market holiday home that has been completely renovated whilst retaining its rustic cottage charm. Situated in a little row of quaint cottages facing the village green, with parking, pretty front and back garden, and a pleasant outlook. Knodishall and the local area The village of Knodishall lies just a short distance from Aldeburgh, Leiston and Saxmundham –, 3.5 miles south-east of Saxmundham, 1 mile south-west of Leiston, and just under 3 miles from the coast. The village retains a local pub, village shop, primary school, and an attractive common, which the house sits on. Just over a mile away is Leiston, with its shops, cafes, and picture house, which has traded continuously for 106 years. Founded in 1182, Leiston Abbey is one of Suffolk’s most impressive monastic ruins and has spectacular architectural features. A bit further from Leiston is the fishing village of Sizewell, which is known for its two power stations, but we much prefer to think of it for its smuggling activities, which occurred on its beaches during the 17th century. Smuggled goods were transported in the tunnels carved out under the marshes – how exciting! The small village of Thorpeness is under 3 miles away and is dominated by the Mere, which attracts people all year round and bears witness to the village’s fantastical past. In 1910 Stuart Ogilvie bought the hamlet and set to transform it into a private fantasy holiday...
