It's a delight to walk in to, the quasi-open plan ground floor, with its oak floors and beams, its open fire in the dining room, wood-stove in the sitting room, and modern stylish decor. Chic leather sofas are new, the bathroom floor is heated and the pillows are feather, but this doesn't feel hotelly, it just feels like home. There's a welcome hamper in a Shaker-style kitchen (range cooker, butler's sink, American fridge/freezer), the dining room has a chunky oak table and the bedrooms are delicious and luxurious; the main superking with a plasma TV. A cottage stay not to be missed by families, romantics or those just looking to get away from it all, and be relaxed from the minute they arrive.

NESTLING deep in the Ryedale countryside, just a stone’s throw from Kirkham Priory, Westow, is a gorgeous little village with a pub and a village hall at the heart of its community. We are blessed with local milkman who delivers papers, and fresh milk to the door; a local butcher who sells organic meat from the local area (and delicious!) and organic farmer boxes can be arranged. For the kids, there's a great playground on the road to the church.
