A beautiful property in a great location. Just 10 minutes from Litchfield and set in lovely grounds. Our room was on the 1st floor with views over the Deer park. The room was very clean and comfortable. There is no dining room and breakfast was continental which we were not made aware of when we booked. The staff were a delight and very attentive, especially Alex and Rachel. Highly recommended

We didn’t see any other guests on the first day so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves, especially as we were encouraged to look around the property. The rooms were a great size and comfortable. The decor was in keeping with the period of the property. Although the restaurant wasn’t open during our visit (hence the 9 rating) the hotel helped us book a taxi to a nearby restaurant. I highly recommend The Nelson Inn in Padbury Lane. It was the perfect location for our visit to the National Memorial Arboretum. It is clear the owners and staff take pride in the hotel and we will be back to see the new changes.
