Location is fantastic for exploring north lakes. Our room was basic but comfortable - better rooms are available at the Inn if you want a bit more comfort. The Inn is very comfy and olde worldy. Eggcellent breakfast (pun intended) - quality local produce and fantastic home preserves all consumed next to a roaring fire.

Food was good for the price, don't know how they do a main and a pint for £10? Lovely fire in the breakfast lounge. All in all a nice relaxed stay but a little flawed.

The location was lovely with views of Catbells and Causey Pike The inn was full of character with log burning stoves and thick walls and beams you would expect for a 17th century inn. The breakfasts were very good and the food in general was excellent.There was free wi-fi and smart TV included 👍 We will definitely return in the future.

Located in Newlands Valley in an 18th-century inn, Swinside is just 5 minutes' walk from the banks of Derwent Water and offers beautiful views of the valley and the surrounding hills. Real ales are served in the bar and homemade pies and locally caught fish are available in the restaurant.

Free WiFi, a TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer are included in each neutrally decorated room. A selection of toiletries is provided in each modern bathroom at this bed and breakfast.

Log fires feature in the traditional bar during the winter months, which also has views of the surrounding countryside. Full English breakfasts and a British menu are served in Swinside Inn’s restaurant. The bar area has a TV, for guests to watch sports.

Newlands Activity and Adventure Centre is 20 minutes’ walk from Swinside. Free private parking is available and the modern Theatre by the Lake can be reached after a 5-minute drive. The market town of Keswick is just a 10-minute drive away.
