The original cottage was built around 1480 and is found in the picturesque village of Lacock. A new wing was added in 2000 with a separate staircase that leads off the kitchen to the rooms above. A light, bright bedroom with shower and bathroom with wc and basin as well as a sitting room next door where there is a fridge, tea making facilities and tv and is somewhere to relax after a days exploring. As there is only one guest room, this wing of the house will be for your exclusive use. Ample parking available throughout yoyr stay and on a sunny day a lovely garden to sit in. Breakfast is cooked to order and a number of the ingredients are from a local farm.

I have only recently moved down to Wiltshire after a busy job in London and am enjoying every minute. With the beautiful countryside around there are wonderful walks to be had, which I now enjoy with my little cockapoo Tilly. I also volunteer at Lacock Abbey as well as being involved in many village activities. On a dry days I am often found in my garden where I am discovering all the different plants growing in the borders as well as tending my vegetable plot. The pond has quite a number of fish which I love watching when I do take a break. I also enjoy baking as well as making my own jam and marmalade, you might want to try them at breakfast!

Lacock is a thriving village and is unique. It has been the location of many films such as The Other Boleyn Girl, Pride and Prejudice as well as Harry Potter and Wolfe Hall. The Abbey and Tythe Barn are open daily, with some lovely gardens to enjoy. The Church is situated in the heart of the village, and nearby a Ford with a footbridge. There are some lovely walks around the water meadows following the River Avon too. A number of good pubs and cafes are all within walking distance from Talbot House. Nearby there are other National Trust properties such as The Courts and Stourbridge. The city of Bath is 10 miles away and is certainly worth a visit, and Stonehenge is about a 40 minute drive away. Other places of interest are Caen Hill Locks in Devizes which are only 20 minutes away, as well as the town of Devizes itself with the Waddingtons Brewery a possible place to visit. Corsham, Tetbury and Castle Coombe are all small towns and villages nearby that you might want to visit too.
