With stunning views of Rothesay Bay and the Cowal Hills, The Ardyne Guest House is just 2 minutes’ drive from the town’s ferry terminal. This elegant Victorian villa provides rooms with attached bathroom, some with free WiFi. Rooms have sea or garden views and all include a flat-screen TV, DVD player and tea and coffee facilities. All have an en suite shower with hairdryer and complimentary toiletries, and some rooms also have a bath. All rooms are located on the first or second floors accessed by long staircases which may not be suitable for all guests. The Ardyne Guest House is a 10-15 minute stroll along the seafront to the town, with Rothesay Castle around 1 mile away. Rothesay Golf Club is a 3-minute drive, and you can reach Bute Golf Club in just under 20 minutes.

We spend our time, when not looking after guests, walking our dogs, running or occasionally swimming and exploring the island. Bute may be small but it has plenty to offer. We have great plans over the next few years for the Ardyne both inside and out. It will be updated and improved tastefully whilst maintaining its Victorian roots.

The Ardyne is situated in a prominent position on the seafront in Rothesay on the beautiful Isle of Bute. Five minutes by car from the main ferry, or a leisurely stroll for those leaving their cars at home. Our comfortable guest house is an elegant listed Victorian Villa designed by John Orkney in 1875 and its importance is recognised by Historic Scotland.Its setting within well tended gardens creates an ideal ambiance for a relaxing break and its spectacular views across Rothesay Bay to the Cowal Hills and the Kyles of Bute are unsurpassed. Our selection of accommodation suits those coming to play golf, go fishing, walking or attending a wedding or business meeting. All are well catered for at The Ardyne. We have 10 en-suite bedrooms all comfortably furnished and well appointed. There is a comfortable seating area overlooking the bay where you can relax, enjoy a drink, read the papers or perhaps catch up on some work, as WiFi is available, free of charge. Our dining room also enjoys magnificent sea views and our full choice breakfasts, really set you up for the day.

Neighborhood info

We are located right on the seafront 3/4 of a mile from the town centre in a quiet residential road. The island is only 15 miles long by 5 miles wide at its widest point and all attractions are therefore close at hand.
