The staff extend a warm welcome and the advice for finding somewhere to eat late on arrival was spot on. The location is easy to find in the middle of the town.
United KingdomCentral location and a really quiet comfortable room
United KingdomI’ve stayed here twice and both times were very pleasant. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance of a Waitrose and all of the downtown shops. Farnham is a lovely market town and The Bishop’s Table only adds to the enjoyment.
United States of AmericaThe Bishop's Table Hotel is a converted historic building in downtown Farnham. It is close and convenient to the shops and sights downtown. Allen greeted us and was one of the friendliest hoteliers we've met in a while (and we travel a lot!) The room and bath were spotless and the wifi worked perfectly and was fast. The shower was powerful and there was plenty of hot water. The towels were huge! The rooms are not large, bu we didn't expect that from a restored historic property -- if that's important to you,I would ask about room options before booking. My niece badly crushed her hand in a car door the night of our stay and Allen was extremely helpful providing ice and suggesting health care options. Our continental breakfast was fresh and tasty. Everyone we met in the hotel was friendly and professional. We would definitely return!
United States of AmericaFantastic location for all the facilities in Farnham & free parking. Lovely, helpful staff & even had fresh milk delivered to your door for the teas & coffees.
JerseyThe location, the room and the staff. We would like to thank Grace and her colleagues who were pleasant, friendly and efficient and made check-in/out easy. We had free parking at the back of the property.
United Kingdomroom was very comfortable, with fully working heating which i appreciated on a cold night. I was pleasently surprised that hotel has taken into account that I will be arriving and leaving out of hours and made appropriate arrangements for me - I received the code to get into the property and was advised where to find the key to the room. The only odd bit was that i have literally not seen anyone - I arrived at 10.30pm on Sun and left at 6.45am on Mon. But i do understand that they might not have reception operating all hours.
United KingdomLocation just perfect historic building perfectly just edge of centre and 15 minutes walk to suburban rail about an hour to London. Covid-19 sadly affects hospitality sector so good looking bar and restaurant closed. Staff have applied lateral thinking and deliver continental breakfasts in a hamper in the morning and vacuum flask of cold milk early eve. Price for myself good though double for a couple makes it "an occasion" style level. Sensible thermostats in rooms so guests can be a Greta Thurnburg or a gas guzzling greedy energy denier! Cheerfull helpfull staff.
United Kingdomwelcoming and large room that even though at front street side was quiet on a Friday night. Excellent value for money
United KingdomI really loved that I requested to be able to check in early due to having travelled a lot earlier than expected and was able to do so and greeted straight away very friendly. The bed was extremely comfortable it felt like laying on a cloud. Milk tea sugar and biscuits were all included which I really appreciated after a very very long day! The room itself is beautifully decorated and very cosy. I also really liked being in a separate little area.

Host Info
The Bishops Table is has been regenerated to offer Farnham’s newest and most up-to-date boutique hotel bedrooms. With minimum queen size double beds, and with rooms reflecting the rich history of the town by being named after famous occupants of the town from Bishops and writers to actresses and world champion formula 1 drivers, it is really the best town centre hotel to relax and unwind. Dating from the 1750’s, the Bishops Table Hotel is a fine example of the Georgian architecture found in Farnham. With a past ranging from being the home of the Marquis of Lothian, to being a doctors surgery and a priests training house owned by the Bishop of Winchester, the building became a hotel in the early 1960’s. The building is currently undergoing a transformation with brand new rooms opening in April 2016, and when completed, the hotel will boast 25 boutique rooms including a wheelchair access room, and with brand new bar and function room. One thing that has not changed is our legendary welcoming and attentive service, and we strive to live up to our motto – ‘Arrive as Guests – Leave as Friends’. See what our guests have said about our new rooms, and we look forward to seeing you!
Farnham is a beautiful market town with predominantly Georgian architecture on the edge of the South Downs and Jane Austen country. It built its wealth originally in cloth, and later in growing high quality hops. Modern Farnham has a delightful range of restaurants, bars, and shops for a visitor, as well and a range of museums and galleries, and a thriving arts centre. The town has a rich history, and was the site of the battle of Fearnhamme in c893ad, when the Saxons defeated the Vikings. Since then the town has been entwined with English Monarchy, including Henry Vlll being a regular visitor, and the town was the scene of much fighting in the Civil War. There has been a wide range of notable people in the town and surrounding area from Mike Hawthorn to Jane Austen. The Bishops Table has reflected this past in the new boutique bedrooms. The town has easy links to the main roads of the south, and is close to Winchester, Portsmouth and Guildford - it is also less than an hour by train from London. The hotel and town is a popular base for those visiting the Farnborough Airshow, the Goodwood Revival and Festival of Speed, and the horse racing at Glorious Goodwood and Ascot.
