The hotel staff were warm and friendly. The room was clean with a good selection of teas and coffees and some toiletries. The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal was good. I was impressed with the overall stay, it really was excellent value for money. The hotel is in a great spot overlooking the market square.

The Castle Tavern is a warm and friendly traditional pub in the heart of Richmond. Recently under the new management of Steve and Vicky we aim to bring you, great home cooked food, top local ales and a relaxing environment in which you can enjoy your time with us with bed and breakfast available all year round.

Property info

The Castle Tavern is a Grade II listed pub and guest house situated within Richmond’s quaint cobbled marketplace at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. The rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi, private bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, and tea and coffee making facilities. The bar area features original wooden beams overhead a real fire and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the cask ales. It also hosts live evening entertainment and quizzes. The Castle Tavern offers a traditional menu with a range of dishes, including a variety of homemade pies. The Richmond Castle and the Richmond Falls are both within a five-minute walk of the property, while the borders of the Yorkshire Dales National Park are just a mile away.
