wonderful breakfast! Maz is a fantastic chef. Maz and Simon were so welcoming, friendly and great sense of humour. made us feel “at home” even going out of their way to provide everything we needed for our vegan breakfast. So thoughtful there was even a vegan doggie bag for our dog as well as a vegan sausage for her breakfast!

We loved the hosts and their dog. The accommodation was very clean and cosy and the breakfast was superb and very generous. The cottage is in a central location in Polperro from where it is possible to walk to the harbour, pubs, coastal walks, galleries and cafes.

The welcome from our hosts was very good. Our room was comforable, and the breakfast was excellent. The location of the establishement gives you very good access to the quirky town, and also to the car park up the hill where you are obliged to leave your car. There is no room anywhere else!

The hosts were very friendly. They made us feel really welcome and nothing was too much trouble. They kept in contact prior to our arrival, and greeted us when arrived. A real bonus was parking, and they welcomed our two dogs. Even they were given little treats and a sausage breakfast. The location was perfect, the room was cosy and comfy, and breakfast was delicious.

Lovely spacious room with nice facilities - although didnot spend too much time there. Easy walk to lovely coastal scenic views and pubs. Since it was Nov, not all shops or restaurants were opened.

Maz and Simon where great hosts and so friendly. The breakfast each morning was delicious and there was a great variety, it kept me full for the day. Would definitely recommend staying here. If you wanted to stay in there were games, books etc. Lovely couple, lovely cottage.

Rated on Tripadvisor as the number 1 place to stay in Polperro, the Cottage is a beautiful 17th Century building with a lovely terraced garden, and a private lodge with its own sun terrace tucked away at the back of the property, overlooking the cascading waterfall. It lies right in the heart of the village, but with its tucked away private garden, it allows you to get away from the hustle and bustle of the busier days. We can take shorter bookings through direct contact. We are pleased to welcome canine guests in our dog friendly room, and offer a dog package at a small daily supplement, to include welcome bag, breakfast, doggie beach towels etc. If you are bringing your dog, PLEASE LET US KNOW WHEN YOU BOOK!
Simon and Maz moved to the property in October 2021, having previously run a successful corporate and private event catering company in Hampshire. Simon grew up in Polperro, in The Polmary Restaurant, opposite The Cottage, which his parents ran. Maz grew up in Belgium, and moved back to England as an adult. Both are delighted to welcome you to the stunning fishing village of Polperro. We can do packed lunches by advance arrangement, which can be as fancy or plain as you'd like - but for the full gorgeous packed lunches or gourmet sharing platters we need a minimum of 72 hours notice.
An original typical Cornish fishing (and smuggling!) village, Polperro nestles snugly in a natural valley in the slate cliffs. In contrast to the cosy, higgledy-piggledy Dickensian nature of the village, the cliff walks along the South West Coast Path both to the east and west of the village offer the most stunning, rugged, picturesque view imaginable. The village is well served by a generous number of excellent pubs and highly rated restaurants.
