Loved the pub/restaurant and the room was lovely. Had been renovated, a nice tub, was very clean and comfortable. Really great combo of a historic buildings with modern amenities. The value for money was excellent.

Our Gilman's Cottage is a beautiful, tastefully refurbished 500+ yr old cottage. The very comfortable six rooms are thoughtfully designed. Nestled in the middle of historical Medmenham Village, it is an ideal location from which to explore the Thames Walk, Hambleden lock & village and the hamlets of Fingest, Frieth, Rotten Row, Parmoor and Skirmett. We aim to provide a quality hospitality experience by dedicated professionals who are proud to work at this beautiful property. .

Property info

Gillman’s Cottage is a beautiful, quintessentially English cottage adjacent to The Dog & Badger Pub and Restaurant. This Grade II listed former Ale House believed to date back to 1550 has been refurbished and converted into six ensuite rooms which all retain their original character but have stunning bathrooms, air conditioning and mood lighting. All of our beds are super-king-sized apart from Hibiscus which is king-sized. All 6 rooms feature thoughtful touches such as coffee & tea bags, complimentary wireless Internet access and Smart TVs with digital channels/apps. Guests will also find mini-fridge, iron & board, hairdryers, free toiletries, soft towels and bath robes. We have a large adjacent car park with electric vehicle charging point. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms, four with both baths and walk-in showers. Only Juniper and Angelica rooms are dog-friendly. Please call for availability. Our gastropub restaurant offers lunch and dinner seven days a week and the kitchen stays open until 9pm every day except Sundays when it closes at 7pm after serving our fantastic roasts since noon.
