Dornoch has a wide range of things to interest travellers, history including the cathedral, great golf course, several antique shops and a couple of good boutiques. Also great beach and some fantastic wild scenery to explore.

Dornoch is such a wonderful town.
Dornoch is such a wonderful town. I was amazed by the architecture from various periods but the Georgian and Edwardian stood out and looked stunning in red sandstone! The castle hotel bar is a must see, also the cathedral where Madonna got married to Guy Ritchie and also Elon Musk got married there too! The beech walks and also the Golf course, rated as the number 1 golf course in Scotland (I spoke to golfers at this festival who gave me their honest opinions) with a links style supposedly better than St Andrews! Although I was there for the local whisky festival, the people were so pleasant and made you feel so welcome and the hotel/ pubs were outstanding with the accompanying food menu's were superb.

Pretty town with a lovely long sandy beach.
Pretty town with a lovely long sandy beach. The Museum and Heritage Trail are very interesting and well worth the time. The cathedral is worth a visit and there are some interesting shops to explore. And we noticed an electric car charging point! We only stayed one night but it would have been better to have stayed for two as we didn't have enough time to visit all the attractions.

A lovely well equiped cottage set in an idillic location with superb views towards the Dornoch Firth. A few miles from Dornoch so own transport essential as over 2 miles from a bus route. If you are looking for an away from it all retreat, look no further.

Very enjoyable, staying in a castle felt special and exclusive and staff were friendly and professional. The food was amazing and also special. Dornoch itself has lovely shops and the Castle Hotel is right in the centre with its own parking.

Dornoch is a lovely small town/large village with a number of interesting buildings, an ancient Cathedral, a magnificent beach, an interesting Museum, a range of shops, hotels, pubs and restaurants. It is also close to Golspie and the nearby Dunrobin Castle.
I am not a golfer but for golfers it is a paradise.
Unfortunately, on this occasion time pressures precluded a longer stay but it is a destination which I know quite well and would have no hesitation in recommending a visit to visitors to the area.
We feel a bit mean rating this hotel as OK as there was nothing 'wrong' with it except it needs a bit of TLC. It did the job, the bed was OK for a couple of nights but started to bring on all the aches & pains after that. The breakfast was OK but limited ( probably because of CV-19 ), the showers were OK but not great. Having said all that The Eagle was the one hotel that was open in Dornoch and the staff were welcoming and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable.
Wonderful stay in overall - the staff was exceptional, the room very comfy and with lots of charm, the food good, the bar absolutely stunning, and the town around was just charming. A great stay in the Highlands, from which you have lots of great places to reach. Dornoch itself is always worth a visit, and folks are generally very friendly. Highly recommended!
Caravan was well equipped. All essentials available for a short - mid length stay. Host was friendly and very responsive to messages. We would stay here again due to proximity to Dornoch (about 20-30mims walk) and surrounding areas.
This was an amazing B&B with every possible home comfort. Dee & Nigel were excellent hosts and their house is just fantastic. Beautiful views over the Dornoch Firth. Really looking forward to a return visit later in the year.
Convenient town center location that allows for all you need to sustain yourself before and after golf. Literally less than 400 yards from Royal Dornoch and all the food, drink, personal sundries, and sustenance you need.
Easy check in. Responsive host when we couldn't find kettle - bizarrely it was in dishwasher! Amazing beaches, golf courses, golf range, good pubs and shops one mile away in Dornoch , stunning sunrise behind caravan.
Quiet location, everything needed was catered for. Comfortable cabin, friendly park managers and neighbors.
Wine and shortbread was a bonus. DVD's and books were well received.
Easy distance to Dornoch and beyond.
The fact that it was dog friendly was really helpful, as we wanted our dog to come along and experience the NC 500 with us. It was a cute BNB, could use some updating in the rooms but it was comfortable enough.
Gorgeous hotel!! Would definitely stay again. Quiet. Clean. Incredible location. Gorgeous room. Beyond perfect (except for dim lighting in the bathroom).
