The booking in process was painless. Tony (the manager) checked us in immediately upon our arrival. We had arrived earlier than we expected, but Tony was very accommodating and let us get into our room early. We loved the fact that The Dusthole is a listed building with bags of character which has a soul all it's own. A building with a magical atmosphere and a very interesting and friendly manager. We would also like to say a big thank you to Abby who made us feel very welcome. Even Tyson, an American Akita (their guard dog) seemed to at least accept us. It seemed that nothing was too much trouble. Even tailoring meals and drinks to our personal tastes. Tony even made vegetable soup for my friend and a special cocktail to help with my sisters' indigestion issues.

Caroline United Kingdom

It had everything that you would expect and excellent service. The dining room was astounding.

Anthony United Kingdom

Lovely cottage atmosphere in centre of town location

Andrew United Kingdom

Friendly warm welcome. Excellent food and plenty of it. We stayed in one of the cabins. It was well equipped and clean. The bed was the biggest and most comfortable we have slept In. The whole building is inviting, quirky and full of history and character. It is a credit to the owner and his staff. The best place we have stayed in so far

Louise United Kingdom

I have a lovely Seabass for supper and glass of Chardonnay! next to the roaring fire! my room was very comfortable to work in .

Ray United Kingdom

Paul Spain

Loved our room and the little extras. The extra mile was clearly there! The food was so good and it had a feeling of a old style inn. Wonderful!

Katherine United Kingdom

The host Tony was incredible, very welcoming also knew everything about the area. We had a meal there which was one of the yummiest meals ive had in a long time. The bar area was comfortable with a lovely log fire.

Siân United Kingdom

Tony was very hospitable and made us very welcome. The meals are very nice and are cooked to your requirements. Rooms are a bit tiered but are comfy after all the inn is 350yrs old. The main bar has a great log fire to sit by and have a few drinks before you are served your evening meal. Breakfast is cooked to order from full English to scrabble egg on toast. Tony is doing a great job even in the current situation. Overall a great stay

This unique 15th-century inn is less than a mile from the center of Shepton Mallet. It offers an extensive menu and cozy log fires just 15 minutes’ drive from Glastonbury.

All of the relaxing, warmly furnished rooms at The Dusthole are spacious and airy, and some of the bathrooms have 400-year-old stone floors. All bedrooms feature TVs and DVD players.

The restaurant at The Dusthole features an wide-ranging menu from traditional English dishes to far Eastern specialties. Guests can also enjoy the traditional Sunday carvery.

Guests can relax in the garden and patio area, and there is a traditional log fire inside the building. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas, and free private parking is possible on site.

Located just off the A37, the inn is 15 miles from Cheddar Gorge. Longleat Safari Park is a 25-minute drive away.
