Twin room as comfortable as ever, with excellent shower and good television. No Saturday night live performances at this time, so evening quieter than past visits. Problems with catering staff meant no evening meal available. Did not book breakfast on site.

We loved the quaintness and charm of the town .Its definitely worth a visit.Sadly the museum was closed at the time we arrived but we did enjoy Fiddleford Manor and visit to the local mill, not to mention walking along the local river/s.
We dined in Sweet Pea restaurant- excellent, and went to a concert held at the local theatre "The Exchange"all very good and well supported.

This was a last minute booking for just one night.
This was a last minute booking for just one night. We had a small double which had a very good bathroom and beautiful view over the garden - number 2. We didn’t dine there but had a delicious pudding from the trolley and a fantastic bottle of dessert wine. The owners were extremely accommodating and friendly. We will go back to stay for longer.

A lovely little town with some great independent shops.
A lovely little town with some great independent shops. Check out the amazing Beads With A Twist shop where you can buy amazing beads etc to make your own creation, learn how to make silver jewelery or buy individual handmade pieces. Try Commins, the utterly fantastic traditional oriental teashop where you can sit and relax and learn all about the blends of tea imported by the couple who run the business. There are English teashops too, gift shops, a wonderful fabric warehouse as well. There is a trailway which is brilliant for walkers, cyclists, runners and adventurers! The surrounding countryside is beautiful.

This property isn't really in Sturminster Newton.
This property isn't really in Sturminster Newton. Fiddleford has a lovely old manor( English Heritage) . It is a couple of miles outside Sturminster.
The nearby pub looked pleasant and has a good menu. I heard no noise at all from the pub.
