I have lived in Aber as a student and know some very nice people in the local businesses.
There is a good Police presence. They drive around.
It is generally a good mixed town for students and Welsh longstanding residents who are generally welcoming of tourists.
Lovely indie shops.
Cheaper beer and food than SE England and other airport places.
A good proportion of overseas residents.
Busy builders everywhere and it is looking up.
Lots of heritage to see including King Charles' old university which is being renovated.

Generally clean and safe environment (only visited during day time), plenty of character and amenities. One main downside; very poor parking availability, & very limited parking signage. Most roadside parking, when available, limited to only one hour.

November is not a good time to visit as it is too cold to sit on the prom the cliff railway was not working, the amusements on the pier was shut, the narrow gauge railway is shut the town is full of empty shops. I had a caravan in Borth for over 30 years and used to visit Aberystwyth, which is 8 miles away, 2 or 3 times a week and that is why I booked a few days there this November, a nostalgic visit, but I will not be going back.

I lived here in the 1980s, now my eldest daughter is at University here and she loves it as much as I do. I find it a very artistic and beautiful place, but at the same time there is a lot of fun to be had in the pubs and bars.

Rang me up swearing lost the plot not a nice man at all he wants to go to a. Charm school and learn some manners ? he a. Man and PAY UP
The room was well ventilated and the staff gave us a fan, without us having to ask, due to the heatwave. In addition to this the view was over the town and had an excellent shot of the Library of Wales. Furthermore we ran into the staff on a night out and were as lovely and friendly as they were at the hotel. Finally the TV had an assortment of streaming services such as Netflix and Disney +, which meant we got to watch shows we otherwise would have been able to see. I will be staying here again when I next come to Aberystwyth.
Lovely view, great big bed slept well but bathroom very small breakfast was ok. Had to pay for extra for breakfast because we booked with booking .com also it was also extra for the spa . Had we booked direct with the hotel everything was included. It has put me off booking with a third party and we payed 50 pounds more by going with booking.com so conclusion book direct with hotel's website but Aberystwyth is not the place it once was. It will be a long time before I visit again.
The hotel location was great. I was staying here after catching up with friends of many years and needed to stay somewhere local to Aberystwyth, so perfect. I was on the top floor and the small lift was very welcome after a large amount of Aberystwyth hospitality!
Take the walk up to the top of Constitution Hill for great views, walk to the harbour, enjoy the many pubs, restaurants. Aberystwyth has a great deal to offer!
The hotel is in a good location and very walkable to the centre of Aberystwyth. Rooms are a good size, beds very comfortable and the air conditioning was very welcome. The Wi-Fi was excellent considering it was free unlike some chains that charge extra for a decent connection. Rooms were clean and tidy with adequate supplies of tea and coffee.
I have stayed here twice before and have always been pleased with the hotel, staff and facilities. There is plenty of parking and several chargers for electric cars which is a bonus. The location is good with only a 20minute walk into the centre of Aberystwyth and amenities. Good breakfast and plenty of it.
Room overlooking the seafront, smaller than on a previous stay but still very pleasant. Good sized bar/Dining area that gave a relaxed feel to the hotel. Friendly and efficient service from the staff. Good breakfast.
Great to be able to get up in the morning and go out, cross the road and have a swim!
It is a wonderful location just 5 mins from Aberystwyth with parking on site. The room was cosy without feeling small with a bathroom attached. Sam was lovely and was very helpful when needed. Felt very welcome. Breakfast was also lovely!!
Excellent breakfast, staff were friendly and helpful room on the ground floor as I am disabled, so clean and bright lovely sea view would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Aberystwyth we would visit this hotel again A+++++
Great hosts, peaceful rural location but easy to access to Aberystwyth, Aberaeron and Newquay. Great breakfast, extremely dog friendly, comfy bed and huge bathroom (Aberaeron room) with claw foot tub and separate shower.
The location is great in Central Aberystwyth. Perfectly located for shops, bars and restaurants and a short walk from the seafront.
Hotel was clean and the staff were helpful.
The location was excellent, right on the seafront. The hotel was a short distance from the town centre and railway station.
The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly.
