We stayed in the family room which was beautiful, split in to 2 parts so felt as though we were in separate rooms which was a very nice change to most family rooms. The children were very excited to find out there was Netflix and the home made rock cakes were a really lovely extra touch. Linda and Graeme were both so friendly and welcoming, as well as being very talented in the kitchen!
United KingdomLovely peaceful location. There was a huge choice for breakfast and we were able to sample many delights. Hosts were very accommodating, especially when we changed our dinner plans at the last minute.
United KingdomBreakfast was absolutely superb. The room (Bridleway) was clean, quiet, warm, and well sized for a couple with a comfortable bed. The bathroom also was clean and a good size with a powerful hot shower. The pub next door serves great evening meals and a handsome selection of drinks, The location of the B&B is ideal if you like walking, cycling, or just generally being outdoors!
United KingdomVery clean. Comfortable bed. Friendly welcoming hosts. 2nd visit to this B&B would use again! Made blueberry ghost pancakes for our son! He loved them!
United KingdomMarvellous overnight stay, made very welcome and fabulous place to relax and explore the area.
United KingdomAbsolutely lovely hosts, room was gorgeous and the views was beautiful. We were greeted with cake and cheese and the breakfast was sublime, even though we are usually meat eaters!
United KingdomThe owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Beautiful location and the rooms are great Delicious home made breakfast. We will definitely be back!
United KingdomThe entire experience was exceptional and we were so impressed with the kindness of the hosts. We will certainly return and recommend the the B&B to others. The food was superb and of a very high quality. We look forward to another visit John and Margaret
United KingdomIt's a beautiful, very dog-friendly boutique B&B in a breath-taking location. The lovely Linda cooks and prepares every generous breakfast to order (and dinners some nights, if booked) and you'd never know it was all vegan if you weren't told. Hearty, healthy and delicious! Graham is a wonderful host - staying with them felt like staying with family, they were so welcoming. Our room had everything you could need and was stylish and cosy to boot, and the daily treats of rock cake and bara brith (Welsh fruit loaf) were a wonderful added extra. We had an amazing stay and would love to return!
United KingdomLovely room with nice lounge area. Fantastic views and peaceful setting. Home made rock cakes were a lovely touch. Hosts were very friendly and attentive. Air conditioning useful on a warm evening.

Circa1800 our property was once an old barn and before that thought to be a Blacksmiths. An extreme renovation was undertaken in 2009 to turn this old building into a modern day bed & breakfast whilst retaining as many original features as possible. 2 of our bedrooms still retain the original roof beams from the barn which have been incorporated as an architectural feature. The original stonework has been preserved ensuring the original aesthetic appearance has been maintained. The barn is attached to our home so guests enjoy privacy along with the security of us being next door. As there is minimal light pollution the star constellations are highly visible on a clear night. There's a large garage where cycles and motor bikes can be stored overnight and there is ample parking to the rear of the property. We've recently installed an air source heating system to help reduce our carbon footprint and ensure our guests are warm and comfortable. The en-suites have all been upgraded with new showers and there are new beds and furnishings in all rooms. There's a paddock area where dogs can be exercised.
Whether you are returning to Garsdale House having walked these hills before, or are new to the area (like us) and are looking for an adventure and somewhere to explore, we look forward to welcoming you (and your 4 legged friends) to stay with us at Goats & Oats at Garsdale House B&B. We are fully plant-based here at Goats & Oats at Garsdale, serving you the most delicious vegan food to get you ready for whatever your day will bring. Check out our website for the range of what you can expect during your stay. We enjoy trying out new dishes and welcome hints and tips from guests and exchanging recipes. Having always enjoyed entertaining family and friends it seemed a natural progression to run our own B & B. The move from London to the Yorkshire Dales is possibly one of the biggest changes we've ever made and it's been our best experience so far. We are very fortunate to live in this beautiful, rural location with the hills and moors on our doorstep and hope that we can help our guests enjoy it as much as we do.
Set in the countryside The Garsdale is central to many walks, so whether you are after a gentle stroll or a good hike to the top of a mountain (3 Peaks are 20 mins away) the Yorkshire Dales offer many opportunities to head out and explore. The Pennine Bridleway, officially opened in 2012 by Martin Clunes, runs 10 yards from our door. The Lady Anne Highway can be seen from our windows and is just 10 minutes walk from our door and is also part of the Coast to Coast Walk. Garsdale Railway Station is a mere mile from us and is part of the Settle to Carlisle Line with Steam trains running from March to October. The Pennine Journey and Settle to Carlisle Walk trails are close by. Hawes, the highest village in England and Hardraw Force are 4 miles from us. We have the Snaizedale Squirrel walk a short drive away & Tan Hill (England's highest pub) via Buttertubs Pass is a must see. Cotterdale and Ingleton Falls are nearby for wild water swimming & for star gazers a trip to Ribbleshead Viaduct is a must for the Milky Way on a clear night. We're in a designated 'Night Sky' area so many stars are visible with the naked eye and there's a viewpoint a short drive away for watching the sunset.
