A very friendly couple run this place. The food is vegan but it is surprisingly good! The room is super clean and well presented. We were so lucky to stayed here and wish Linda and Graham the very best for the new chapter of life.

Circa1800 our property was once an old barn and before that thought to be a Blacksmiths. An extreme renovation was undertaken in 2009 to turn this old building into a modern day bed & breakfast whilst retaining as many original features as possible. 2 of our bedrooms still retain the original roof beams from the barn which have been incorporated as an architectural feature. The original stonework has been preserved ensuring the original aesthetic appearance has been maintained. The barn is attached to our home so guests enjoy privacy along with the security of us being next door. As there is minimal light pollution the star constellations are highly visible on a clear night. There's a large garage where cycles and motor bikes can be stored overnight and there is ample parking to the rear of the property. We've recently installed an air source heating system to help reduce our carbon footprint and ensure our guests are warm and comfortable. The en-suites have all been upgraded with new showers and there are new beds and furnishings in all rooms.
Whether you are returning to Garsdale House having walked these hills before, or are new to the area (like us) and are looking for an adventure and somewhere to explore, we look forward to welcoming you to stay with us at Goats & Oats at Garsdale House B&B. We are fully plant-based here at Goats & Oats at Garsdale, serving you the most delicious vegan food to get you ready for whatever your day will bring. Check out our website for the range of what you can expect during your stay. We enjoy trying out new dishes and welcome hints and tips from guests and exchanging recipes. Having always enjoyed entertaining family and friends it seemed a natural progression to run our own B & B. The move from London to the Yorkshire Dales is possibly one of the biggest changes we've ever made and it's been our best experience so far. We are very fortunate to live in this beautiful, rural location with the hills and moors on our doorstep and hope that we can help our guests enjoy it as much as we do.
Set in the countryside The Garsdale is central to many walks, so whether you are after a gentle stroll or a good hike to the top of a mountain (3 Peaks are 20 mins away) the Yorkshire Dales offer many opportunities to head out and explore. The Pennine Bridleway, officially opened in 2012 by Martin Clunes, runs 10 yards from our door. The Lady Anne Highway can be seen from our windows and is just 10 minutes walk from our door and is also part of the Coast to Coast Walk. Garsdale Railway Station is a mere mile from us and is part of the Settle to Carlisle Line with Steam trains running from March to October. The Pennine Journey and Settle to Carlisle Walk trails are close by. Hawes, the highest village in England and Hardraw Force are 4 miles from us. We have the Snaizeholme Squirrel walk a short drive away & Tan Hill (England's highest pub) via Buttertubs Pass is a must see. Cotterdale and Ingleton Falls are also nearby for wild water swimming & for star gazers a trip to Ribblehead Viaduct is a must for the Milky Way on a clear night. We're in a designated 'Night Sky' area so many stars are visible with the naked eye and there's a viewpoint a short drive away for watching the sunset.
